Elite company

Quote:
Forward Chris Bosh, who scored 40 points in Toronto's 99-90 victory in New York on Friday night, needs just one more big game to join Vince Carter as the only Raptors to record 40 points or more in four games in one season. Carter accomplished that feat in four different seasons with the Raps.
Moon to dunk for the stars

Quote:
"I believe that everybody who can dunk, and had a dream to play in the NBA, wants to be in the NBA dunk contest," said Moon yesterday, following the Raptors practice at the Air Canada Centre. "And playing in the rookie game would be an added bonus."

Moon to reveal dunk side

Quote:
There will be much more than fingertip dunks Feb. 16 though, when Moon competes against a handful of other players yet to be announced by the NBA. The 6-foot-8 forward said he's "got some ideas, but I'm not sharing them with anybody right now. I've probably got a couple you never saw before."

Raptors' Moon will be dunking with the stars

Quote:
Jamario Moon, the Toronto Raptors' 27-year-old rookie, got word Friday that he will be among the participants in the slam-dunk contest at the NBA All-Star Weekend in New Orleans on February 16th.

Pretty much news all about Moon.

Also, hands down one of the better Sunshine girls in months.

In addition to the dunk contest I would love to see Moon in the rookie/sophomore game, Bargs in the rookie/sophomore game (although he probably hasn't earned a spot with his crappy play), Kapono in the three point shootout and Jose in the skills competition.

...and I would like to see her in my bedroom.

LOL .... yeah I said the exact same thing in the Jamario thread ACIE.

Link - OFFICIAL: Jamario in the Dunk Off.

It would definitely make the All-Star weekend probably the most entertaining from a Raptors fan perspective.

Parker should be in the shootout as well. Of course that won't happen, unless the world falls in love with the Raptors, but he should be there.

I know ... I heard Chuck mention that as well during the game. There'd be an uproar if that many Raptor players were participating at the All-Star Weekend festivities.

Its a shame because I think a Kapono and Parker showdown would be entertaining. Clearly two of the top 3-point shooters in the NBA, just too bad for this time around that they're currently teammates in regular season. Had they not, they'd both be participating in the event.

What's the criteria for the event? They invite eight players is all I know. It's somewhat conceivable that if Parker continues to hover around 50% that he may get an invite.

I believe the criteria is being a good shooter, but representing a team that is otherwise poorly represented at the whole AS event comes into play. Kapono has to be there to defend. Parker had a chance last year but declined so he could see his sis play ball. But it would be nice to see them both. If there aren't too many players shooting a reasonable percentage, then who knows? They might go for two Raptors.
