He was very good in the 4th last night, his defense was very solid and he was drawing charges and staying in front of his man. Outside few stupid jump shots he was playing great on the offense too. But I blame that on Casey, that play late in the game (iso DD for a long J) out of timeout was really bad imo.

In my mind, stars are not stars unless they can at least do an above-average job on the defensive end, which is why Harden does not pass the test for me. DeMar is obviously doing wonderful things on the offensive side of things, but it's his defense that has really taken the next step.

His facilitating abilities, vision, and willingness to pass have also gone to the next-level, which is obviously helped by better talent around him. Yes, he'll still occasionally take a bad shot, but it keeps defenses honest.

It's the little things that have me excited for his future - that, and he's 24 years old. He ain't done yet.
Alot of that can be attributed to the emergence of Ross' defense.

Yea well.. I did say long time ago that all it took was for Demar to play well in the playoffs to receive super star praise. I don't think hes quite there yet, but this is the treatment PG got.. maybe I should have waited to make the comparison now instead of doing it while the raps weren't doing good lol

I love DD man,he's one of my favorite players in the league right now. To see where he's at now from being a very raw draft selection is incredible. He has his flaws in his game but I think he does a decent job of trying to improve those weaknesses. The only disturbing trend I'm noticing lately is when he hits the deck after a non called foul or what he believes might be,he takes too long to get up and hustle back on defense, leaving an odd man rush sometimes. That's a habit I believe he's developing that he has to stop, other than that I'm not worried about the debate whether or not he's an all star/superstar because he's atleast not another Joey Graham.

I personally hope he and the team don't fall into the trap of the superstar tag. It's ultimately meaningless outside of getting some favorable calls. It takes a team, and this team has done well to band together and play hard rather than rely on one or two guys. If they keep playing the right way there will be multiple all-stars soon enough. And it will be easier to develop new talent into star material.

+1

Even without the Superstar Tag he's getting top 5 FTA per games in regular season and playoffs. Focusing on being a good teammate and better leader would be more beneficial and rewarding than recognized as a superstar.

Kyle Lowery in his post-game comments said DeMar was becoming a superstar in front of our eyes. Having Lowry there obviously really helps. As opposed to say Bargnani. And developing within a strong team concept is key. The sophomores will continue to benefit from that as well.

I think keeping Lowry is important for JV's growth, him having a strong long term PG that he could continue to grow with would be huge. And Lowry seems to have really taken to Jonas and they seem to like each other.

Jennings? The dude is sadly disappointment. He shouldnt even be compared to teague or demar all together.

And I didn't do the recent research but the last time I did Demar is right above Teague by a bit.

Yeah for sure. And listening to Kyle it seems like a lock that he comes back as well. He was talking about how they were just getting their feet wet this time around.
