Default Tmac and vc

Just watching the first game played at the acc. Seeing vince and tmac is making me think about the talent we had and the what ifs? also, the game showed me how boring it is to watch a Raptors team where their best player is a boring player named little foot. Do you guys think we'll ever see two talents like vince and mac in a raptor uniform ever again?

Just watched that on Raptors TV too! They were golden together!! Also, I loved that team! Oakley and Willis defended the post admirably. Oh and AWill and Christie were decent. I mean if we kept T-mac and still added AD and Dell Curry, this team could have been a contender.

Well obviously Carter and t-mac are more fun to watch. They were young athletic wing players who could fly and had a good skillset. But imo Bosh is a pretty fun to watch as well. Minus the facups, when Bosh is being a beast and dunking and abusing down low it is pretty fun.

For example, washington game where turk hit the gamewiner and chicago game where we blew them out, Bosh rareley did his faceups and was playing off the ball and he still managed to drop 30 ish pts. If Bosh played with a good wing player and solid playmakers you would see less faceups and more off ball play and still see him drop 20-30 points.

BTW, to answer your question we will probably never see that type of talent for the next 5 or so years.

They were pretty inconsistent that season. I got to see Indiana completely hand their asses to them. Not fun. Neither Vince nor T-Mac were natural competitors in the sense that they could win any game they wanted to. They could win on talent against teams that let them do so. That doesn't really interest me, especially when I pay good money to come to a game where they just lie down and die in the face of stiff competition. Even when their talent shone through in spades, as it did in the big 51-point game against Phoenix, which I also attended, the win was still in question right to the end.

dude you have to realize tmac was 19 and vince was a rookie nd you're forgetting it was a shortened season!

How old are they now? Have they ever shown more than their talent when teams allow them to?

I would say T-Mac had one season where he looked truly committed to competing. He still had no idea what was going to be required of him to win in the playoffs in terms of mental toughness, and it showed in the results.

Vince has always had moments where he really puts some guts into games. But it never lasts.

Anyway - I was thinking of the following season - not the shortened season. That shortened season definitely did show some promise - no doubt about that. But if the "what if" is based on that promise, then look no farther than the following season when some of the luster of that promise already started to dim a bit.
