TJ Ford's Raptor stint - Appreciation thread

I know things broke down in the TJ camp in the last half of this season, but as a whole, I'd like to appreciate his time here. He was one of the instrumental pieces in that 47 win season that turned our franchise around, he always had a competitive spirit, and his game always brought entertainment, for better or for worse.

Farewell Little Engine and I wish you better days as a Pacer

Hold on MVP ... apparently just a few minutes ago on the FAN590 reports out of Indiana are denying the O'Neal for Ford trade rumours still. :confused2:

JayJayW 06-26-2008 02:11 PM

they are not denying its prolly no comment even collangelo didnt even comment on it

I'll be honest. I'm gonna miss TJ. We was a great little PG and I have seen a lot of skill and desire in him. Best of luck in the rest of your career Ford!!!!

INSIDER 06-26-2008 02:28 PM

see ya TJ...
i was always a big fan until i saw what you were capable of this season. you went backwards in terms of developing into a top PG, IMO.
thanks for the memories.
i'm sure you'll get it one day.
stay healthy.

If he can stay injury free, he's going to be an elite point guard for the next 7-8 years. Like top-10. He was certainly on his way after his first season here.. and then the wheels fell off. Best of luck Teej. Hope you can re-capture some of that magic in the hotbed of basketball.

Aw now you guys are just cruel. Have some respect for this guy. :haha:

Superjudge 06-26-2008 03:18 PM

I like Tj.

I just like that this situation might be cleared in a matter of days.

Acie 06-26-2008 03:21 PM

I can't wait until TJ comes back and drops 50 on us.

Some of you guys are going to have aneyrysms.

Superjudge 06-26-2008 03:23 PM

as long as we win I wont bat an eyelid!

Apollo 06-26-2008 04:01 PM

TJ is a good player and he sure as hell is tough as nails. I hope he does great things in Indiania and gets that franchise back on track. He deserves his own starting gig and I'm happy that he's found it.

I don't care because I know the Raptors will have walked out of the building the winner. The Pacers can't hang with the Raptors, come on now...

LX 06-26-2008 04:47 PM

I just hope boos don't rain down on him. It would be nice to see a little appreciation when he returns.

And he could very well pull Indy into the playoffs. Little Engine indeed. I won't miss the nickname.

Apollo 06-26-2008 05:03 PM

I think Toronto Raptors fans are too intelligent to boo TJ Ford. Like him or dislike him, he put his body on the line for Toronto every night he played and that deserves respect; especially in a hockey town of all places.

Clearly you're giving Toronto fans way too much credit.

They booed TJ when he was in a Raptors uniform, what do you think is going to stop them from doing in with him in a Pacer uniform?

LX 06-26-2008 05:12 PM

Well considering he got booed while he was here if he didn't pass everytime he touched the ball, I'm not so sure. Yes a lot of that was colored by Jose infatuation, but they were boos all the same.

Benzo 06-26-2008 05:19 PM

I will boo
