Well first off that's entirely speculation... he could be back in 2 weeks for all we really know. Unless we've just gone on a tear and have won 11 games in a row...when TJ is back and has had a few games as backup to get in shape and show he's 100% he should be the starter again.

My Nash comparison had nothign to do with Nash vs TJ... it was a starter vs backup argument....which should have been obvious to the reader that got all hissy over that

I'm as big a TJ fan as i am a Jose fan - seriously, i don't favour one over the other and i completely mean that. They're actually both my favorite Raptors - in my past posts i thought i made it pretty clear just how much a miss TJ.

Anyways, i just think the way things are going now, you can't take Jose out of the starter's role. Also, lets remember that TJ is coming back for a very serious injury - you have to agree that it's best for him to "ease" back into his playing time and then to re-evaluate things once TJ is back in mid-season form, right? Come on.. you know that's the most reasonable thing to do!

and pardon the nonsense stuff, i was just being cheeky.
I've been saying he should be eased back in.. which is exactly what is happening right now...but when he's 100% he should be starting...it's best for the team period

I think i've covered my side of the coin, so in closing i'll just say when TJ is 100%, Sam should re-evaluate who should be the starting PG.

Unfortunately Benzo has to confer with a panel of experts before he can make a decision as to what his opinion will be.

Ha ha

Well despite the obvious fact i've been earning that starter's job, if Sam and BC have you as the absolute authority then i'll gladly hand it over when you return to form... but permanent retiring is an option to avoid the awkwardness you know

Wow..we're off topic a tad in this thread

I though you guys are kidding ... There's no way TJ will ever be our starting point guard again, not after all this. For all the good things he does, and his quickness and defense and all that, TJ is no longer part of our future. Even if he was clearly superior to Jose, the risk of injury is way too high. Remember, the only reason TJ is starting is superior potential, I don't think anybody would argue that right now Jose is the better point guard. But what good is future potential when there's a high likelihood there might not be a future ...

TJ wasnt a guy that really went to the basket as it is really, last year Jose went in for those explosive layups a lot more than TJ did. TJ gets most of his production off getting into the 15 foot area and either hitting his little fading 15 foot shot or the defence collapsing and him kicking it out.

He wasnt really a guy to go straight to the basket like an Ellis or Parker anyway. It was a freak accident that could have happened to anyone on a 1 on 1 break with a guy behind them.

He wasnt trying to dunk it and got pushed into the stand or something like that, it was a freak accident and if I was TJ i'd be looking at it the same way. He's not gonna change his game because his game doesnt really rely on going to the bucket and trying to finish as is.

The last month+ have really showed how much we miss TJ, even the Jose followers will admit.
