Arrow Time for Wright to start

According to Doug Smith...

Quote:
Is it time now to do Antoine Wright for DeMar DeRozan, make Sonny Weems the first wing off the bench and see how the last 14 games of the season unfold?

I think Iíd do it.

Itís not so much a knock against DeRozan, although the first six minutes last night were somewhat ghastly before he turned around, as it would be a move to shore up the rotation at the crucial time of the season.

Wrightís been playing pretty well the last two games and he is the teamís best perimeter defender and I think thatís what you need on the court to set the tone at the start of games and third quarters.

The thing with DeRozan was always about his development, even if there was a cost involved. He got good minutes against good players, didnít really cost his team any games but now itís time for a guy whoís been there to take over.

The next four games are pretty big and could very well define where they finish Ė especially the two roadies at Miami and Charlotte on the weekend.

Itís time for the guys who have been there to do it; time for Wright

DD played pretty well the last games. Idk if id change the SG-position.
Plus i see Weems over Wright. Weems brings enery every game and Wright is like Bargnani. One or two good games and then.......nothin -.-

DeRozan has played well enough that he shouldn't be yanked out right now. Keep the rotation as it is right now and quit yanking players in and out.

Quit yanking players in & out? Other then Jack recently, nothing has changed in the starting lineup all season except for when there has been an injury.

Yank in and out of the rotation. sorry, should've qualified that.

this is probably just an after effect from how poor he played to start the year but i still cringe when wright touch's the ball. I dont mind things how they are aside from hedo being on this roster, though i do like jack starting. Derozan has the short leash, wright will get his chance quick when derozan isn't performing

DeMar hasn't been bad at all lately

sure he started off 0 of 5 or whatever but atleast he was being aggressive

imo if anyone should be benched it's hedo or Bargnani for more defensive presence

defence wins playoff series not offence.

DD is not a factor in defence e is not in the system on offence. He goes to the basket, but never look at his teammates. Wright is not so different on offence, but is a better defender

I like Wright in the fourth. I love when Hedo drives and kicks it out to Wright for three.....picture perfect

I think we should start Sonny, he seems to mesh better with the starters, then have Wright and Demar off the bench

Wright's defense and ability to spot-up from three are qualities that fit much better with the starting lineup. Besides, Sonny's energy off the bench is going to be huge for us.

I really don't think the difference between any of our SG's really matters concerning starting or bench time... Unless one of them can go off for 20, which I don't want to see Wright attempt, it's a moot point...

Yah I'm not really into the DeRozan benching for Wright...It's too late in the season for it & Wright has been more injury prone & less consistan than Demar it just doesn't make sense!

Just to clarify - I would be happy keeping DeMar in the starting lineup. Having said that I do see the merits of starting Antoine. I would not blame Triano one bit for swapping the two come playoff time.

I can't believe people have been saying Derozen has been playing alright,

you guys watch the same game I'm watch, his start against the wolves was one of hte worst i've seen all season from any player

crawford dropped 30 on his head, we had to pull him becuase crawford was torching so bad we had to bring in sonny to stop him in hte final minutes of that game, if we didn't make that sub him out we probably would have lost that game

the only thing good about derozens are his dunks, but i prefer sonny's defense, or wrights

I don't agree. Demar hasn't done much wrong.
He is in trouble with star wings, but which rookie wouldn't be. He gets his touches in first quarter and is mostly benched later.
If you want, increase Wrights minutes to ~30. I can already tell you he is not the panacea.

If it was possible, I'd bench Hedo for Wright. Hedo is not producing and he is not the matchup hell he could be.

I agree with Smith. I'd like to see Wright start at SG for the remainder of the season.
