Time to start Ross at SG

Landry Fields just provides nothing. Alan Anderson's shot is too wildly inconsistent. Ross at the 2 provides us with better D, better 3 point shooting and quicks. Even if DD can't matchup with 3's we can't get much worse than playing Fields.

He seems a bit too raw from what I've seen from him but I didn't watch tonight and apparantly he and val did well so....

Superjudge 11-07-2012 12:11 AM

Ya, you know what, if Toronto is gonna be shitty, might as well let the kid play. He strikes me as the typ that will be pretty decent for experience.

jeffb 11-07-2012 12:11 AM

Really? Based on what, he's been lost out there. Can't count tonight in a blowout.

Stonezz 11-07-2012 12:20 AM

He has a nice stroke, and looks very fluid while playing the game. He looks more natural with the ball than DeRozan and he's just a rookie...However I wouldn't be ready to start him just yet. Rather see AA starting at the 3 first.

jeffb 11-07-2012 12:21 AM

Honestly, our depth at the wing sucks balls. I wish we had signed Pietrus instead of Fields. :sigh:

Stonezz 11-07-2012 12:24 AM

Pietrus, Delfino, bring back Sonny Weems from Europe. Anyone else.

TORaptor4Ever 11-07-2012 12:59 AM

Uhhhhh.... what?

Better D? A better shot? More quicks?

I must have seen a different Ross because I've seen NONE of those things when he's been on the floor. No hate on the kid.... he just doesn't look ready.

If you're going to start anyone in place of Fields it should probably be AA.

MBailey85 11-07-2012 01:27 AM

He'd be a good trade chip imo.....

Its definitely not time to start him and everybody is overreacting. We all know deep down the Raptors have a long ways to go before becoming an Eastern Conference championship contender and they were supposed to lose tonight,OKC is much better than Toronto. Anderson is perfect off the bench, give him starters minutes if he's having a good game. For now, still start Fields until he gets some rhythm unless you make the switch to Kleiza when he comes back. Ross should be the first player to sub for Fields. Keep Lucas on the bench, forget that two PG system.

He's a very active defender. Good on the perimeter. Obviously one of the better 3 point shooters on this team. And he's fast too. So yes.

LET'S GO RAPTORS!!!!! 11-07-2012 01:50 AM

You were able to ascertain all of this in the 20-25 min that he's played over the first 3 games? :confused2:

OK.

R0b3rt 11-07-2012 02:14 AM

Watched the after game interview he was a bit winded after 10 minutes of play yeah please lets start him and kill the poor kid before he can finish his rookie year.

Shifty.py 11-07-2012 03:02 AM

tbh that was very fast 10 minutes

I would start McGuire at SF

10gizzle 11-07-2012 03:15 AM

Most rookies are gonna look bad if they get a couple of minutes here and there to show their skills. Lotsa pressure to perform in a very short time on the floor...

I'm pretty sure that if you gave this kid 20-25 off the bench he'll start looking much more calm. This kid is poised, just has to play regularly.

Metallikid 11-07-2012 04:26 AM

Four games... :sigh:

fk24 11-07-2012 06:56 AM

We absolutely do not have the option of starting Fields anymore or waiting for him to catch his rhythm. The guy does nothing out there and lacks fundamental basketball skills and puts us in a handicap position to start games.

SoGood 11-07-2012 07:28 AM

I wouldn't hesitate to put Dom McGuire in to start.. very James Johnson esque probably and has a consistent jumper on the offensive end...at least from what I've seen

It does appear that Casey loves to give time to guys who try so hard to stick in the league (Anderson, Lucas)

Yes, definitely scrap the 2 pg system

Ataf 11-07-2012 07:33 AM

KLEIZA WE NEED U BACK.

bjjs 11-07-2012 07:40 AM

Ross sucks - we're only 4 games in.

he doesn't necessarily 'suck' - but he's outmatched physically to contribute. People say Demar was to weak in his rookie year - but he was strong and physical enough to be on the court. Ross isn't.
