yeah i gotta say in no way does Terrance Ross look ready to start in an NBA game. I didn't watch yesterday, but i watched the first three games, and he flat out isn't ready. Dear in the headlights. The guy needs way more time.

Keep starting Fields and hope he finds himself. that's pretty much all you can do other than waiting for kleiza (but even then i wouldn't rush a guy who hasn't seen any game time).

OK.
So you don't think he can shoot, defend, or is fast? Because that's all I see when I watch him.

Ross shouldn't start.... yet. Maybe not even this year. Kleiza or Anderson should start, with the other one first off the bench. Time for Landry to earn some minutes just as AA has. Even McGuire needs more run.

I can't believe he's actually worse than last year..... but he was bad in the second half of his rookie season too. I've got to just ignore the contract details or else it's going to drive me crazy all season. It's one of the worst signings in the last 5 years throughout the league.

I agree with the OP. Anderson is playing well off the bench, and I think Ross will benefit more playing with Lowry and getting opportunities in transition as well as open looks at 3 off of Lowrys penetration than playing slowball with Jose. That and I think he'll learn the defensive game quicker going against the better players in the league than barely playing off the bench vs backup guys. This will also put more pressure on Demar to guard the other teams best players which will in turn hopefully make him a better defender in the long run.

Does he have nice form on his jumper? Sure. So do a lot of pros.

You're reaching though. A LOT.

Jesus lol.... the shyt I took for backing Lin AFTER he had dominated a bunch of games...

What exactly has Ross done to impress people so much?? He's barely seen the floor and when he's been out there he's barely made an impact.

That's not hate... that's just truth.

maybe the problem is that you extrapolate too easily, a few good games of lin and he's a star, a few bad games from ross and he's useless ...

the point is, considering our options, starting ross may not be such a bad idea
we already start JV over more experienced players, might as well go for broke and hopefully the crash course will benefit the rookies. It's not like anderson or fields or amir are doing anything much anyway.

Let's face it, playoffs were obviously a pipe dream, our chances are minuscule, so we might as well focus more on developing our younger guys

the only danger I see is breaking their spirit if they get dominated too badly, JV seems to be keeping his optimism for now though.

our problem is we don't have enough talent in our wing rotation, they either can only shot or defense.

we need someone in 2,3 that can drive the ball and shot the 3, which is a shame that BC doesn't want get one

let me repeat again our weakest link is wing side and it will cost us when injures pile up

I'm not sure if he should start but I think we should be playing a lot of the Ross/Demar SG/SF rotation

as much as i don't like Fields at our Start 3...i have to admit that he should be getting better when games goes on.

sure he sucks in first 4 games ,but guys like him that have high basketball IQ will soon find way to adjust him.

Ross is far below to became a NBA starter right now

Its definitely not time to start him and everybody is overreacting. We all know deep down the Raptors have a long ways to go before becoming an Eastern Conference championship contender and they were supposed to lose tonight,OKC is much better than Toronto. Anderson is perfect off the bench, give him starters minutes if he's having a good game. For now, still start Fields until he gets some rhythm unless you make the switch to Kleiza when he comes back. Ross should be the first player to sub for Fields. Keep Lucas on the bench, forget that two PG system.

You're right on all your points except the one that pulls it all together, he's not ready to do that in game yet on a consistant basis.

Hey after3 games....now 4....we can extrapolate everything we need to know going forward this season. Case closed.

I think that statement is made out of anger cause if you truly meant that then I'm not sure you've seen him play in college and that first year and change on the Knicks.

Yes, yes we do. LK would make a great starter for this team as we could use his 3 point shooting to space the floor better.

You're absolutely correct, Ross is more of a spot up shooter and as teams adjust to him they will just play him tight - daring him to drive to the rim. Problem is he doesn't have that strength yet to handle that type of physicality. He's mopst likely a year away from doing that.

I see it too until someone plays him tight then he seems lost.

LK should start IMO and AA should be the primary back-up for him up. Fields should back-up DD. Ross has a fair bit too learn.

The Raps start JV cause he's experienced playing at a high level for years, including the Olympics, that and he's better than anyone else the Raps have on their roster. Not like JV is your typical college rookie. Ross, no where near the development level that JV is currently at and is certainly not polished enough to start - a lot of raw talent though.

Starting Shooting guards do not throw up air balls once a game.

lol, right now demar shoots at least 1 shot a game that is close to or is an air ball

starting ross right now would be like starting demar during his rookie year, basically saying the team sucks and we're our only goal is to try and develop our rookies
at this point the team is not out of the playoff race to basically give up that early in the season, we aren't the crappy crappy team that demar was on in his rookie year

well if he has such a high bball IQ he's going to know in the next few games that he is really sucking and should volunteer to be taken out of the starting lineup, at that point we'll know how high his bball IQ really is, lol

then it all went to shit, ending with a missed putback winner by Bosh vs (indiana?)
