When have we played 8 man rotation? Not this season at least. Since the trade I dont think there has been one game where at least 9 guys didnt play 10+ minutes. Currently we are playing 5 bigs (if Novak can be considered big) and 6 guard/wings in each game. And thats without PPat.

I think its good to give some rest to some guys, but those minutes are spread among the guys who never played that much. DD, Lowry and Amir are still getting big minutes every game.

You're right. We have never had a 8 man rotation this season, as every game we had 9+ players play at least 10+ minutes. I don't see that changing come playoff time either. Guaranteed we play 10 players at least each game.

vasquez is not on your list of complaints, who's our 9th rotation player. If PP is available, hayes doesn't get minutes usually. Our standard rotation is starters + vasquez + salmons + PP. Tyler, Nowak and hayes only get minutes when their specialized skills are needed, or to fill for injuries.

when PP is back, you won't see much of tyler, nowak or hayes anymore. Without PP, it depends what we need, 3pt shooting, defense or energy - one of those 3 supplies it. PP can give you all 3 in one package, that's what makes him important to our bench.

I'm glad JV & Ross played out the 4th quarter today.
I want to see Ross get more closing minutes.

Since the trade, and up to when Patterson got injured, Hayes has averaged 12 minutes per game. Not much evidence to support your theory that we won't see much of Hayes when Patterson returns.

I don't know about anyone else, but i want this guy gone. I liked what he brought to the table after the trade but the last two months from him have been tough to watch.

i can't see how MU could possibly pick up his ridiculous option for next season.

Salmons wont be on an NBA team next year. MU isn't going to pick up his option, the guy is done. You cant stick in the NBA when you shoot under 35%, and don't provide anything else of note.

My thoughts and words exactly.....He was basically playing in the first month here, the way grevis has been playing over the last two.

cant we just try to see if fields is useful? next year, he getting payed 8.5 million and we cant trade himif he just on the bench... imo, fields has always been a consistent defender who could guard that fat ass horse face.

I was surprised Casey went with Salmons instead of Greivis when Ross picked up his second foul. It was early on in the game but Greivis had been starting at the 2 when Ross was out for that stretch, so it's not like he couldn't deal with the minutes. Did Salmons play much after his initial stint on the floor? I don't remember. He was terrible though.

Salmons was a -9 in 13 minutes. He didn't play much, but he played enough for Brooklyn to win. Fields should be playing, he should have been playing the past month. Too late now though.

we shot 38% and had major issues creating offense, fields would only make it worse as he would be completely ignored by their D. About the only advantage I see in playing fields is that they probably didn't scout him and may try to guard him for the first few possessions

even if he's not scoring, salmons cannot be left alone, he spaces the court at least. If he can't defend jj, might as well play nowak, it's not like JJ can score twice per shot ... When ross is not in, you have only lowry as a 3pt shooter, you CAN'T afford to have less than 2 shooters on the floor to have even a remote chance of breaking that D. Realistically you need 3 and even then, they have 4 at almost any given time and KG can shoot long Js at high efficiency too.

No shooting = no space = bad offense. The best coach won't be able to solve that problem.

BS. Salmons is NOT helping this offence. Period. And Salmons can't defend for some reason. Fields can. And Fields has ways of helping the offence that are not constrained to "stand in the corner and brick threes." Even that aside, I'd rather play the guy who defends and rebounds if it hurts our offence than the guy whose only benefit to being on the floor is "I guess they can't completely ignore him on offence." Except they could if they wanted to.

The offensive issues were not "spacing." The issue was running offence through Amir, forcing possessions to DD even though he was useless, running bad lineups and not taking advantage of match ups.

People must be crazy to want to play fields. He hasnt played a minute in a long time... no sense in risking it now.

His style is necessarily one that needs playing time. He plays great team defence and he doesn't need touches on offence to get in the zone as he depends on cutting. If Ross is in foul trouble again, he can't be worse than salmons

I think possibly decreasing Salmons minutes and giving them to De Colo and Fields might help, but we'll see what happens moving forward.

Like I said, probably too late now, but plenty of people pushed for it when there was plenty of time left.

Yes, it was said a month ago, but Salmons kept playing poorly and Casey didn't even try to give Fields some minutes to see if he could contribute. Now it would be kind of a gamble to mess with the rotation. I'm afraid it's too late.

Also, I've watched the game against GSW recently with Fields starting, and I have to say I don't get why he disappeared afterwards. With Ross in early foul trouble, he would have been a good solution to guard JJ. He could even match up with Pierce if needed...
