I'd be for dumping him, provided there is a suitable replacement coach waiting in the wings.

No more first timers, or super-duper old timers (ie. Lenny).

Sam hasn't lost the team. This year has been a mess for a lot of reasons, and Sam has contributed but he shouldn't be kicked to the curb.

The perfect replacement would have been Adelman, but out there there are only defsensive minded coaches (JVG, Fratello..), not that that's a bad thing, but it goes against the philosophy the team is building - which is an all out offeensive scheme, but it wouldn't hurt to see this team to back to basics and be a good defensive team.

The blame falls squarley on his shoulders, for someone who preaches, motivation, playing hard, is the players coach.

He's lost the room, the team in unprepared, and they know it, the know if they do what Sam says.

"Just go out there, play hard and make shots"

They can do all that, but the other team has scouted and has a plan. When was the the time you watched a game and said ..."wow the did a great job on player X".

Bullocks....ditch him now..

Last night..Carlos Boozer and Deron Williams actually. Williams with 4 assists, Carlos 13 and 10? Not too shabby actually.

I'm not saying he's an infallable saint... but I dont' think you'll see him replaced anytime soon either. Too many other factors behind this years stinkfest so far.

Last night.

Boozer 13 and 10.

Normally he'd go for about 30 and 16 against the Raps.

You left Derons 21 points out?? and they let him take over the game when it mattered. Sam will not get this team to the next level...he should be coaching in Memphis or something so the players can grow with him...our player have outgrown him...

How does Kyle Korver get open looks, standing out at the 3pt line....any chance Sam can steal Jerry Sloans playbook?

Making a pg guard score is a very well adopted strategy(unless it happens against TJ cause then it's his fault for being a ball hog). Sorry, it goes both ways, Deron's effectiveness was cut in half... rather than scoring and distributing threat, he was left only to score, and 21 points is only 2 above his season average..that's not even that bad.

I dont' totally agree Sam's players have outgrown him... only one on the team with possibly more bbiq is Rasho. Guys like Kapono, Hump, Moon, TJ, Calderon...really the whole roster is full of young guys that make lots of mistakes and need seasoning....they are growing with him. The direction they're growing in is fairly up for debate but I doubt you could convince me the players have outgrown their coach.

Sam, is a player's coach. He just needs to go back to the videos of last year. He should have at least until the end of the season. We are still in the hunt - hopefully Bosh comes back healthy.

But, Sam needs to stop making knee-jerk reactions during the game. He needs to try Phil Jackson's idea and let the starting lineup play their way out of their funk. Switching Calderon back & forth with TJ, too quickly is not good for either of them. At least try it for 2 games or so. I know he's trying to play anyone that plays defense, but you can't win on defense alone. But since the west was a lost cause he should've tried it then.

And why won't he ride Kapono's streak longer. It looked like Kapono had the best FG% the last 2 games, and the only one with the hot hand. Sam should've kept Kapono in while he remains hot. It made no sense to rotate Kapono out.

I think Jamario Moon should go back to coming off the bench. His drive-to-the-basket act has disappeared and his defense isn't consistent. He may be better as a spark of the bench again. Maybe have Delfino start instead of Moon.

Raps need to drive to the hoop more and get fouled at least.

Go Raps!

NO.

you take away a star player, who is your only go to scorer, and try to win against NBA level competition.

when Bosh was healthy, everything was just fine.

we dont need a scapegoat, we need patience. we're still making the playoffs

no it wasn't fine -we got burned all season by 2 and 3 guards. And we have an above average defensive player in Parker. And we lost quite a few games to weak teams this season, seattle, knicks, clippers, 76ers (when they sucked), the pacers - all with Chris playing, and playing well.

And Utah last night played like they were asleep - that was a very tired Utah team, so no wonder their players didn't go off. But usually they do, so don't put Boozer 13 points on Sam's defensive strategies, we got burned by Price for god sake's. Price .... And it's not like TJ doesn't have the quickness to stay in front of him.

In line for most improved player this year.

Ask 30 other teams how he keeps getting open.

Hmm.....

Maybe three legit allstars around him????????????????

He's done a terrible job with the Bosh injury and the TJ mess

Is it enough to dump him? I dunno, it's not my decision. But if he gets outcoached to all hell again if we play Orlando this playoffs, I think we should think about it.
