Default Time to crush is completely and Start Over.

I have been thinking, and thats how I really feel.

This team is rotted.

To the core.

Our franchise guy is an ok player, I don't hate him, but I look back to some posts I made in November of 2007, when Smitch called out the Raptors for not playing hard, for not playing a little "dirty".

Mitchell basically talked about how guys could get more mean in the paint, whack a guyin the nuts, pull on jerseys... basically scratch and claw out a win.

Chris Bosh flat out refused when asked about it in the media.

I said it then, and I truly believe it now, that those words he spoke were the beginning of the end for Toronto. The so called leader set the tone, he was not willing to do the little things that people do to win, he refused, and he set the tone for the Softest team in the NBA. It remains that way today.

We all love to hate certian guys. Bowen, Horford, Garnett, Rasheed, it's painfully evident that there is plenty reason that we do. They play hard, they push the limits of the rules, and they all have big, fat, shiny gold NBA championship rings to show for it.

I like our guys, I like Bosh, but this sad sack, bitchy little team identity problem needs to be changed. I don't want Phoenix North, the Suns couldn't win because the only badass on the team was Nash, period. They has finesse bigs. Finesse is for tennis.

It's time to blow this team to bits. Out with Bosh, out with Parker, out with Bargnani out with all of um. Start over, Keep Jose because hey, at least he's been in a few scrums, he's battled with Nate, and GArnett, and some other guy I forget. He cares enough to do it. Draft that beast thats pegged to go #1, start over with grit and determination.

Do something to change the character of this roster, because as it is now, this team is a joke.

I agree that changing the attitude or the "corporate culture" as they call it through trades would help bring more toughness and a defensive mindset to this soft-boiled team.

However, I don't know if you'd have to press the reset button on the whole team or just trade Bosh to make that happen.

I'm afraid it will be a complete strip down and rebuild.

it won't happen though. The MLSE has clearly shown itself stronger than even the great BC, they have imposed thier corperate and fiscal responsibilities upon the team and you'll see minimum to marginal success, a full building, and a washed out product for years to come.

Damn right SJ.
It's got to start at the top and permeate down. Toughness, grit and determination has to be a philosophy that is truly believed in by the whole organization or what you end up with is excuse makers and apologists. It begins with bringing in players that are capable of playing that way. I don't think that BC believes in that brand of basketball.

This is why i've said that BC needs to get rid of Kapono in the off seaseon and then not sign AP. As much as i like AP unless he takes alot less money, cut him loose! And in that Kapono trade get a bench player with balls. Then go out and get a slashing SG with grit with the money we have to spend. These are "nice guy", that don't play with any kind of intensity or urgency at all. This team is gonna have to be upgraded this summer through a trade or two (possibly Bosh) and a couple signings. Toughness is desperately needed!

Fuck Bargs too. He lets guys shoot lay-ups past him without even the thought of knocking the guy down. Watch little Nate get to the basket last Friday. It'll happen today too. For Christ sakes - hammer somebody!

everyone needs to go. If there is a good trade out there for Bargs trade get rid of him. The only players I would keep are Ukic and Graham

you all are to disgruntled...we need to realize that Bosh is not a leader on the court as we had anticipated...that's fine...its Managements job to get complimentary players around him if they want to keep him...

team will be fine...this yr though is a right off...

Intensity is only for taking the good teams to greatness. We're just a team that's flawed skills-wise.

Calderon can't play defence, at all. That's a huge problem for us so I don't know why you'd want to keep him.

Gasol is called Gasoft by everyone other than LA fans and he's a "finesse" big man, and they didn't have bynum but made the finals (yes.. kobe). I think we can keep Bosh as long as we get 2 badass backcourt players and keep marion/bargs.

We need a balance of finesee players and tough players. I'd say it's more skill than being tough... we just need one extremely tough guy (like the bulls had w/ rodman).

I'm thinking the 'is' should have been 'the team' or something, which would make it 'Time to crush the team completely and Start Over.' I'm not sure exactly what 'crush' would mean in that context, though.

It could have also been 'Time to crush our playoff hopes completely and Start Over,' which works with 'crush' but still sounds a little odd.

wow. everyone eh? why don't we just protest for the whole Raps organization to dismantle like they did with the Grizz in Vancouver? this whole starting over thing is getting repetitious and i'm sure we have more pride than those ones with the Clips. yeah. just move the Raps over at our friends down south. that way, no one will ever be disappointed and impatient...

I'd say more than ever this team is just a solid SG away from a big improvement. Starting from scratch doesn't really work for me right now. It should be clear what's wrong and to fix what's wrong.

I agree that there has not been enough sense of earning things the hard way, like TJ used to do, sometimes to his detriment. But it only takes one guy to really take hold of the idea of doing things the right way. Bosh has only gone half way as a leader. He's still young, and really seen very little of what leadership is about, other than Mitchell. I think Jose has been extremely disappointing in terms of leadership, and I think JO just got in the way of both of those guys growing in those terms. Maybe Marion can be a good role model that way. I like what I see so far. Add another solid vet that can not only show some more character, but create a bit of his own offense when needed, and this team is a long ways away from being something that should be blown up.
