Default Tim Leglers Previews

DeMar DeRozan, Toronto Raptors | Prediction: 5th place
DeRozan DeRozan is a highflier without question. Being a rookie for a team in Toronto hasn't given him a ton of exposure to NBA fans, but he is developing nicely in his first season. He will bring a ton of energy to the event, but his rookie nerves ultimately might get the best of him, causing a miss or two that could be fatal to his chances. There will also be very little connection to the crowd because of his relative anonymity. That will influence the judges and cost him precious points in the "Slam Dunk-In" with Gordon.

An ex-NBA player of the 6'4 white shooter variety turned analyst with a big mouth and loud opinions, like so many other NBA commentators.

He's known for his strong opinions and ridiculously hot wife (a former NFL cheerleader):

I don't understand the satisfaction some of these people get from taking petty shots at toronto. Not that he doesn't have a point, but the fact that he is a rookie in Toronto has no relevance, the fact that he is a rookie playing limited minutes does.

And ultimately, the slam dunk is not a popularity contest.

When people don't really know about a situation, they revert to stereotypes and preconceived notions. The notion is that the US is the best country in the world and the rest of the world is just a poor imitation.
