"i don't want to drive, so i'ma settle for a j", things like those. perhaps maybe it's cause' they feel the officials aren't giving them a benefit of a doubt to blow that whistle. even so i think they should've kept trying if they wanted the officials' to take notice. "well, he's all he's doing is shooting, so i'll settle for that as well". i think as a team who goes to war, they need to be able to tell each other that, "hey, you don't have to do this alone. you don't have to shoulder it all on your own. you've got us. we're your team mates. let us help"
