Default Thorpe from ESPN: Brags hit ceiling early

What do you guys think? Too premature, should give him another year or so, or is this what we have to look forward too over the next couple years?

I'll admit, he's been less than impressive this season. Kind of regressed somewhat so far this season compared to last.

David Thorpe: (12:42 PM ET ) Sure, but not at this rate. Seems to have hit his ceiling rather early.

Objection your honour, overdramatic. Give the guy some slack...expectations are huge, he's had nagging injuries. It'll come. I dont' think he's taken a step back...he just hasn't gotten comfortable this year....that said i'm getting a bit impatient

sustained.

Man, what do people expect? Bargs is playing pretty much out of position this whole year. It'll take some time before he gets comfortable playing as a centre in the NBA. Sure he can camp out in three point land and pad his stats, but what good does that do?

Essentially, This is kind of a "new" rookie season for him.

People ARE overdramatic.

sustained here too, but the question arises, how long do the Raps stick with this project of making him a C?

I still think he can be a more valuable C than anything else, but it is going to take a lot of work, and with the injuries, and maybe not the best work ethic so far, that hasn't happened yet. But I think it will. I think he's going to get rolling pretty good for the second half of the season. He really has to buy into playing the 5 spot, and looking at how his rebounding has shown improvement already, I think he's pretty much settled into it in his mind, but the contact, and the awareness needed to play help defense has been tough for him to adjust to. Would it really be any easier as a 4? With his size he probably ends up with the same guys guarding him anyway, and there are some pretty bruising PFs to defend. It doesn't matter so much, because he's going to be a 4/5 and not a traditional 5 in any case. And maybe that means he has to work that much harder. In a way he has to master two positions, while being a natural at doing what a small forward does. Such are the burdens of being a versatile and complete basketball player - but the payoff will be big soon enough.
