From the offensive point of view he is already an all-star, but he has to improve intensity, personality and defense.

Good point.
Most of the time Bargs lets players go right past him

He's exactly correct.

Last year was a set-back. If we want to do the Dirk Nowitzki comparison, this is his 2nd Dirk year, so look to see what he can do next year (his 4th which I'm comparing to Dirk's 3rd, which was Dirk's break out year).

I live in an alternate reality, you see.

Wrong. He's one of our top three on-ball defenders, it's just his rotations that need a little fine-tuning.

Agreed. He keeps his feet on the floor now and is quite effective. You can almost see him improve every game. He just needs to move a little bit more out there, but it's coming. He's going to be VERY good.

He's our 3rd best defender behind Marion/AP

Roko Ukic can be an allstar.

So can Reggie Evans.

Well Lewis has always been a really really good player, near allstar every year at least.

And Nelson has broken out since the series with us because he knows the Magic system inside and out which is why hes shooting 50% this year.

I know what point you're making but I dont' like your examples.

Roko I agree... I think there's potential there. The kid has talent and instincts and given the right nurturing and opportunity all star could be in his future.

Evans no...he's a hustler...not particularly gifted or skilled. He does the dirty work and gives the hustle but he's not one of the most talented guys in the game, nor will he ever be. He is what he is.

Bargnani has the gift...it will come down to how bad he wants it and how much he puts into his game. If this offseason is more than just a fluke I can see a bright future. He's a special talent, unlike Evans.

there's no doubt in my mind that Bargnani will become a regular of the all star game starting in 2011/2012 or even 2010/2011. I only hope he'll still be a raptor when that happens ...

what has impressed me the most is his desire to become better, because I wasn't really sure he has it in him. The talent and skills were undeniable since his first season, but his work ethic was question publicly by sam mitchell. Luckily Bargnani proved him a liar this summer.

More bullshit. How about the fact that Sam instilled the value of a work ethic in a guy that was getting nothing but love and attention for taking three pointers? The guy was challenged to play up to his size, not questioned. And he responded.

Please show me one single fucking quote where the coach said the slightest thing negative about Bargnani when he struggled last season. Please. Your mind interprets the most obvious things in the most skewed ways.

Ben Wallace was an All Star, so with the key word being could - it doesn't rule out Evans.
