Things To Do For Basketball Fans On Hockey Trade Deadline Day?

Just wondering what people are doing as Hockey takes over for the day. I think it is so fun how this thing has grown to the stupid levels it has.

I'm eagerly waiting to see if the Bruins make a deal. :dancing:

Its stupid that TSN and Sportsnet run 8 hours of trade deadline day when there are like at most two major trades that are made.

This is definitley the deal that will take us to the promised land. ;)

Hockey Deadline day is a joke. Just watch TSN/SN/Score and see these "hockey panels" lol, scramble around with their blackberries strapped to their ears and tell me that isn't one of the dumbest thing you've ever seen.

Hokey media in this country is way overboard and cartoonish!! :tombstone:

I know Steve. I went to High School with him and co-incidently, I went to university with his sister (who I'm still really good friends with). Steve is a solid dude. He's tough as nails and good as a 6th-7th defenseman.

+1. NHL deadline day is always a lot of fun. Usually a lot of trades. Not really living up to the hype this year.

Time to brag:

Steve Mason went to my high school - he was in grade 12 while I was in grade 9.

Oh please, many of criticize the hockey deadline day, but every Sunday during football season we're subjected to: 3 hours of pre game, 2 hours of post game talk, monday post game and pre game discussions, then you have the playoffs where it's taken up a notch and then you have the super bowl.

So deadline day, is nothing compared to other sports.

Ummm.. Canada is a hockey nation first and foremost whether you like it or not, bud. If you detest it, don't watch it.

In the States, national intent day - where HS students sign letters of intent go to respective colleges in the US is a BIG thing. And it happens twice a year - once for football and once for basketball. Over HS kids. And you want to slam deadline day in hockey?

Steve Mason is a wall.

Fancy can atest to this, we've gone to school with many NHL players.

Fisher apparently just bought a house in Almonte, so I'm hoping to catch a glimpse of Ms. Carrie Underwood soon. ;)

why?

because the MINISCULE, and I mean TINY NBA fanatic crowd don't like it?????

Jeffy, I love ya, but you have no idea what the coverage does for ratings, and how much advertizing it sells man. It's huge. And ya you're right, it's ridiculous, but if you were the owner of a sports channel, and could get thousands and thousands in ad sales from just one day, are you saying you'd not do it?

Come on brother....... you know would.
