FINALS Thank you to Ed Davis and Jose Calderon!

I know the trade isn't 100%, but I'm posting this anyway so

great team players who had good locker room attitudes and loved the city of Toronto(which seems to be rare among NBA players).

Ed was only here a few years, and was/is a bit of a tweener but was shaping into a pretty solid player since Andrea got hurt. Really got to see his true potential. Had a good bond with the other young guns on this team, and I hope he'll be back in Toronto one day.

Jose was a flawed PG in a way, but still our best. Leads the team in assists all time by a big margin, and was a lights out shooter. Thanks Jose.

Both guys gave what they could but unfortunately we needed to fill other holes and we had major depth where they were. It happens. Good luck to both.

I really liked Ed, and wished he could get more PT with us. But everytime Bargnani went down, he showed really great promise. Sucks that he's going to be stuck behind yet another big in Zach Randolph

Both were great for us, while we had some times where we struggled, they impacted our team in a great way and we should all be thankful. No more watching Ed smash Acy and Ross at 2k

yuk, hearing stuff about Ed's reaction in the gay thread is making me feel sad.

sounds like his personality is similar to the way he plays. Damn, gonna miss him.

That was surreal never seen a guy get traded before. Ed went upstairs to the Hawks exec. office w/ Raptors brass. (cont'd)

Robby Kalland ‏@RKalland
...Ed came down the stairs and ripped his shirt off and stormed into locker room. Came out about 10 mins. later, dressed w/ towel on head.

And beats headphones in hand...HE WAS TOO SAD TO EVEN LISTEN TO MUSIC!!! #HugEdDavis
UGH, this is just sad

Been a supporter of Ed since UNC, hate to see him go but Casey made me so mad with the way he played him. I sincerely hope he blows up in Memphis.

Calderon deserves a lot of credit for righting the ship when Lowry and Bargnani both went down...

Davis was huge during Bargnani's absense, never thought he would blossom so fast, I was def starting to become a fan of his. He boarded, blocked and really improved his jump shot.

Gay better pan out!

are people here seriously saying they're going to miss Ed more than Calderon? Sure, we didn't win anything with Calderon and sure Ed Davis is the younger and potential player, but perhaps a bit more respect for the guy that was here for like a decade? Quality guy and quality player, our all-time assists leader... but we're more sad to see the guy that had a poor attitude until this season let go.

EDIT: Just saw his interview.. basically confirms everything I just said. He really cared about this team and his teammates and was very emotional. When the guy mentioned how many fans Jose had, he could barely speak. Ed Davis? On the bus already on his way to Memphis, probably excited.

I was at Brock University for a Raptors training camp open scrimmage-- Jose's introduction to any public as a Raptor. He surpassed anyone's expectations all these years later, and became the Raptors greatest ever point guard. Thank You Jose!
