Thad Young

Guy is a restricted free agent. If this lockout ever ends, should we make a run at this guy? With the Sixers selling the team and a new CBA to be in place, the new owners may not be as willing to throw around money, and if we frontloaded a contract (like how we did with Linas), we may have a real shot at getting this guy. He's still only 23 and would fit in pretty well with our young guys. Thoughts?

jeffb 07-12-2011 04:40 PM

I would love to have him here.

*Waiting for the comments on how it would take minutes away from JJ..

Someguy again 07-12-2011 04:42 PM

he plays the PF position most of the time

he wouldn't here

carp 07-12-2011 04:43 PM

Not sure he fills a major need... would rather a guy with a bit more defensive focus.

Dark Knight 07-12-2011 04:50 PM

I think he would be the perfect fit. He's long and athletic, all the right attributes in being a good defender. Casey would most likely be able to convert him into a pretty good defender on the wing. As far as JJ goes, he'd make a pretty good sixth man.

Bayless/Jose
DD/Barbosa
Young/JJ
Ed/Amir
Bargs/Alabi

Blaze 07-12-2011 04:52 PM

Idk he's a tweener who can't shoot and doesn't play defense. He's still better than JJ but I want our SF from next years draft, unless we can get a guy like Rudy Gay.

powerfulpanda 07-12-2011 04:54 PM

why not?
i'm not okay with just handing the starting minutes to JJ. he's got to show me if he can be a starter in this league

jeffb 07-12-2011 04:54 PM

Part of me would rather get Wilson Chandler

Bayless
Derozan
Chandler
Bargs
Chandler

thaddeus has been flourishing in philly because of the transition basketball they play over there, plus he's the leading offensive rebounder on the 76ers when they are out and running. casey is a half court random offense person, so signing him might be a big success or we got ourselves another player with no role on our team, we need to find a spot up jump shooter on this team so we can spread the floor, barsbosa, calderon and klezia alone is not going to cut it

thought 07-12-2011 05:28 PM

i'd much rather have chandler

finstock 07-12-2011 06:40 PM

Because he basically has no perimeter game, I think Thad is better suited at the 4 spot. Not exactly a position of need. I'd rather a guy with some perimeter skills, like Chandler.

tettays 07-12-2011 07:35 PM

PF don't play SF

Chandlers awesome. I always pick him up in my fantasy leagues however my team is usually built well enough to cover his injuries - which would be a concern for me

His last 3 seasons haven't been that bad. He's averaged 73GP.

I know, but injuries the last few years.... Still, I would chance him.

Ex2k 07-13-2011 02:12 AM

Ummm

Can we address the need for a 3 point threat to come off the bench first? :police:

i mean, that would be a strong team!? bit of a fantasy team too, but hey! Would also prob stretch our wages to the limit, but with young players and future draft picks coming in and those 2 vets, man i'd love that team. Big fan of wilson chandler.

gnarl 07-13-2011 09:46 AM

I'd rather go after Tayshawn Prince. Then trade down and draft one of Kabongo/Teague/Rivers...depending who develops best this year

If we are able to grab Tyson Chandler this year somehow...we would be a pretty balanced team come 2012-2013

Kabongo/Bayless
Derozan/Barbosa
Prince/Johnson
Davis/Johnson
Chandler/JV

Although I rather see a Davis/Johnson PF pairing...I'm pretty sure Bargs will be here, which means one of Davis and Johnson will have to go..which sucks.

I would also re-sign Sonny and have Alabi as the 3rd big off the bench.
