Terry Davis: Ed will be sleeping in the weight room

Quote:

But Terry Davis has a promise for you, Toronto. Come the next NBA season, whenever it is, his son Ed is going to be 15 or 20 pounds heavier. Minimum. The Raptors rookie centre, who did more than merely keep body and soul together despite missing 17 games with a knee injury, already has an inkling he’ll be in the weight room a great deal. But in case he’s forgotten, his ex-NBA tough guy father will remind him the second he steps through the threshold of the family home.

“He’s going to be sleeping in the weight room,” Terry said with a chuckle. “Matter of fact, I already have a pillow for him.”

this is a huge summer for ed and for this team. we'll find out next year whether or not we've got our power forward of the future or just another CB. this team can't afford him pussying out and not spending a whole summer in the weight room.

Music to my ears. Others things Raps fans would love to hear:

1. With the No. 1 overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, the Toronto Raptors have selected....

Really impressed with Davis...makes losing Bosh a lot easier knowing that position will be full for years to come. He might not have Bosh's offensive diversity but he plays more like a traditional big man in there and we need that. Love hte rebounding too. Would like to see him pack on the beef over the next couple years and see what he can do.

honestly i'm looking at the lack of offensive diversity as a refreshing change. let's just wash the shitty taste of the CB4 era out of our mouths completely. it will be nice to see the majority of the offense coming from up top.

“The coaching staff there did a really good job developing Ed, to the point where I think he has a home in the NBA,” said Terry, who played 10 seasons with the Dallas Mavericks, Heat, Washington Wizards and Denver Nuggets and was handed the nickname Chop by one of his coaches, Ron Rothstein.

I liked that quote to, I'm glad his dad feels he fits here in Toronto, he's definitely appreciated more than most, if not all, the other players.

Wow, thats a much stronger motivator than Triano :)
Should hire him as a big man coach

Hey listen, when they drafted Ed Davis I was very happy that Terrible Terry Davis was his dad.

I KNEW he would have the proper advice/ support system. You see that look on his face, well his dad had the EXACT same look. He's gonna be all business. He's a young kid now, but when He's 3 years in.... he'll be a man.

I like it. Now he ha to improve that 15-17 footer. Recipe to PF success.

Gurk 04-14-2011 04:35 PM

Awesome. Terry better beat Ed's ass if he doesn't listen to him ;P

Renihan_00 04-14-2011 04:37 PM

Honestly, I like it and I hope it turns out well.

I just hope he's not a crazy dad....
