Completely different. McGee's problem is bball IQ and Drummond's is motor. At this point, it's not even clear Drummond even has motor issues. He just needs experience and time to improve like JV.

What's clear is that Drummond is not a scrub like Hasheem Thabeet, who's an amazing physical specimen but little basketball talent. He has a great NBA body and oozes potential. At the very least, we missed out on drafting a far more tradeable asset.

I'd have to believe OKC would have looked long and hard at any package of Drummond + assets for Harden.

We drafted Ross after awarding DD a huge contract that pretty much guarantees him a starting spot on the Raptors for years and Fields a huge contract as well to be our starting SF. Was Ross drafted to potentially be a starting SG for us? That makes little sense as DD has that locked in.

Unless Ross was drafted to play SG and DD move to SF... That would mean we gave Fields a huge contract to come off the bench. All in all, a cacophony of nonsense decisions by the Raptors.

As stated above, Drummond makes Bargnani more expendable and would see minutes regardless.
Not true.

To be accurate, Raps have drafted Ross way before giving out those contracts.

Ross showed flashes of mind blowing talent. I am really happy with him, even when he is not shooting well he defends very very well, so he is never a liability.
PS watch Ross outrunning Harden in the straight line (last dunk)

Mind-blowing talent? That's a reach of reaches.

+ i think Andre would walk away once his contract is done

i think it's unfortunate that ross came to the Raptors when he did, as i think he's a better player than derozan was when we drafted him. i can only imagine if their fates were reversed, how much better a player ross would be 4 years in.

I agree, but we have to take in the extra years Ross spent in college, the additional value that has added to his game. I wonder if DD had spent more time in college if he might have had more time to better his fundamentals rather than being forced to do so while taking on the grind of the NBA. Unfortunately, his family situation was different.
