Terrence Ross moving up the rookie rankings

I love watching him play

#6

TERRENCE ROSS, G, TORONTO: Scored in double digits back-to-back for first time this season and more could be on way with Valanciunas injury and good work ethic. “We’re not developing Terrence Ross; he’s earning every minute of it,” coach Casey said. “If he wasn’t, he wouldn’t be out there.”

Apparently Davis is still a rookie LOL:

Nicholson outplayed fellow rookie Ed Davis for 14 points in the quarter.

Yup there hasn't been this much excitement over a wing man in Toronto since you know who?

Dario 12-30-2012 12:03 AM

He is very fun to watch, we may have a gem in ross

TORaptor4Ever 12-30-2012 01:01 AM

He's certainly coming on... I just wish that he would move the ball a bit more.

He will, I am sure. On the other hand, only one player on this team has a prettier looking shot. ;)

needs to stick those open jimmies

Like I said when we drafted him...his three best attributes (shooting, defence and athleticism) are really starting to shine through and the more meaningful burn he gets the more he'll blossom.

Most importantly, guy needs to spend every spare minute working on ball handling. If he gets that down he can do big things.

Dario 12-30-2012 04:53 AM

i dont like his off the dribble shot, but it goes in, its nuts. he has game.

Admiral 12-30-2012 08:53 AM

his main thing right now is to get used to the nba level game and to develop his handles, everything else is kind of there already, after that its just raising his overall game to meet his potential level

anything that has him higher than #8 in the rankings is good, just means at least in his rookie year he's proven to be a better pick than where he was drafted

LOG 12-30-2012 09:09 AM

it takes some balls to draft Ross at 8.. he wasn't mentioned anywhere to be top15. At that point we didn't know much about him, He wasn't on our radar (at least i don't remember it). But there aren't many questioning the pick now, sure some still will say that we should've picked Drumm..
I'm really loving his game, and I have to admit that I was wrong. Because when BC picked Ross, I wasn't very happy. (It was something like: Terrence Who..? WTF?)

NLZ 12-30-2012 09:24 AM

over MKG? He just dropped 25/10 or something.. has better overall stats. Is this based on potential or per 36? I expect him to be better than Kobe Bryant at SG since he was drafted 5 spots ahead of him..serious.

Ataf 12-30-2012 09:34 AM

How can anyone claim that someone in their rookie year... actually even after they win a NBA tittle is going to be better then Kobe... Really? He'll eventually drop 81, get into the 30000 club, get 5 rings, get 7 final appearances(as in literally owning/dominating a whole decade in the NBA), lead his franchise in just about everything, be put in many people's top 5, most people's top 10 in the game ever. Yea, cause MKG dropped a 25/10 or was drafted earlier then him... no. He doesn't deserve that comparison. Realize that MKG isn't the only SG who got drafted ahead of Kobe >.>
btw, so did Ross and Derozan? I believe?

Ammo 12-30-2012 09:39 AM

If Demar's work ethic can rub off on Ross in terms of putting in time working on his game day and night and getting bigger, his ceiling is higher than Demar's. That would make him a multi-tool player and an excellent pick at #8.

raptor123 12-30-2012 09:55 AM

Ross has improved so much since the start of the season. We don't have any super stars on our team. The emergence of Ross, AA,and Davis, have been huge.

I can see Ross being an all star some day in NBA !!!!

Great selection by the Raptors organization !!!!

Carlito 12-30-2012 11:39 AM

Love his defense and athleticism ... Not sold on his shot yet, but like his ability to finish with little push shots around the rim. Has the potential to be special. Needs to work on his ball handling skills and better shot selection ... He's most effective when moving without the ball.

Kleiza's shot looks best to me and it's uniq too
Anderson's shot is probably is the most correct one

lol, is this directed towards me? First of all it's Ross who was drafted 5 spots ahead, not MKG, so I was taking about Ross being better than Kobe. Second, clearly the aforementioned was all sarcasm...lmao.
