Default Team positional statistics

Using the following, these are the efficiency ratings by position on the team showing what positions are the most effective in relation to opposing teams numbers that go against each position.(This takes into account all players, not just starters.

Quote:
Efficiency Recap Difference(DEFF) = Efficiency Recap - Opponent's Efficiency Recap
Eff: NBA Efficiency recap = ((Points + Rebounds + Assists + Steals + Blocks) - ((Field goals attempts - Field goals made) + (Free throws attempts - Free throws made) + Turnovers))

PG:
Raps rating: 8th in league 23.1
Opponent rating against Raps: 11th in league 20.3
DEFF rating: 8th overall with a +2.8
SG:
Raps rating: 22nd in league 18.1
Opponent rating against Raps: 24th in league 22.6
DEFF rating: 26th with a -4.5

SF:
Raps rating: 12th in league 20.2
Opponent rating against Raps: 18th in league 21
DEFF rating: 16th with a -0.8

PF:
Raps rating: 4th in league 26.7(Dallas Utah Washinton top 3)
Opponent rating against Raps: 26th in league 25.6
DEFF rating: 12th with a 1.2

C:
Raps rating: 19th in league 24.1
Opponent rating against Raps: 20th in league 26.4
DEFF rating: 20th with a -2.4

Teams best position statistically is the pg position.

Starter ratings
Raps rating: 5th in league 86
Opponent rating against Raps: 20th in league 81
DEFF rating: 8th with a 5.0

Starters are amung best in the league(actually the 8th best grouping according to numbers)

Bench ratings
Raps rating: 27th in league 26
Opponent rating against Raps: 23rd in league 34.9
DEFF rating: 29th with a -8.9

Bench absolutley sucks.

Backcourt rating(all players)
Raps rating: 16th in league 41.1
Opponent rating against Raps: 21st in league 42.9
DEFF rating: 29th with a 11.8

Front court ratings(All players)
Raps rating: 11th in league 70.9
Opponent rating against Raps: 21st in league 73
DEFF rating: 16th with a -2.1

Conclusion is the starters are solid enough but there is a terrible decline in productionwhen the bench gets involved in the game. Team overall is not tough enough defensively. Team as is is a playoff team, but based on numbers of the starters should be much higher than they currently sit in the standing.

Jay's tightened up the rotation recently, the bench efficiency should come around as the rotation sticks.

Just to update a stat.

Offensive Rating

1. Steve Nash-PHO 126.5
2. Chris Paul-NOH 126.0
3. Al Horford-ATL 125.9
4. Nene Hilario-DEN 124.9
5. Jared Dudley-PHO 124.4
6. Carl Landry-HOU 124.3
7. Marc Gasol-MEM 123.8
8. Jose Calderon-TOR 122.3
9. Pau Gasol-LAL 122.0
10. Tim Duncan-SAS 120.8
11. Chris Bosh-TOR 120.6
12. Marcus Camby-LAC 120.2
13. Chauncey Billups-DEN 120.0
14. Channing Frye-PHO 119.2
15. Paul Pierce-BOS 118.7
16. Beno Udrih-SAC 118.1

18. Luke Ridnour-MIL 117.6
19. Anderson Varejao-CLE 117.5

Caldy the guy that everyone wants to trade is where let me see wow Jose is at #8 and has the best rating on the raptors. But then have the Raptors gotten any better without Jose. You would think that someone would have stepped up agaist the weaker teams or as many say the easier schedule. Bosh has slipped to 11th. Yes guys just keep smoking the wacky shit it really lets you see straight.lol

well because;

- horford is an elite forward in the NBA.
- Dudley is playing with Nash and is actually playing great so far and has been recieving some kudos.
- Landry has kept Houston in it, period.
- Camby is a good player.
- Beno..... dunno.
- Ridnour, I'm thinking is a stat that is affected by PT, although i have heard he's playing the best of his career.
- Vareajo is a good player on a great team.

Nothing wrong with these stats brother.

Stats are indicators. No reason to throw them in the garbage. The key is understanding how that stats helps or hurts.

which players on that list don't play?

and kobe probably isn't an 'efficient' player in that sense. he takes a ton of shots, especially with the shot clock running down and 3 defenders draped all over him. it isn't a ranking of the best guys, just the most efficient ones on offenseally speaking.

That offensive list should be cross referenced with the defensive ratings to show more about each individual player.

Jose-122 OR
-----117 Defensive rating

Net +5, or team gains 5 points per game at the pg position by playing Jose.

Jack-110 OR
-----116 defensive rating

Net -6. Team gives up 6 points per game at the pg position by playing Jack

Tony Parker-107 Offensive Rating
------------109 defensive rating
Net -2

Baron Davis-108 OR
------------107 DR
Net 1

Mike Bibby-114 OR
-----------108 DR

Net 6

Deron Williams-113 OR
--------------108 DR

Net 5

I could continue on, but jose, in accordance with net offensive/defensive ratings ranks in the top 10 in the league at his position. the top guys are Paul, Nash, Rondo Jose falls in with guys like Bibby, Deron.

Snooch what have you done ??? You show stats that prove what I have been saying all along. lol Great post Snooch !
I really enjoy watching our team play during the winning streak ,however too many posters credit Jack as the reason is insane. So many fickle posters on here. Jose has taken quite a beating on this board and all he did is get hurt. His numbers don't lie he is still our best pg on the team. A guy that plays his heart out for our team and a guy thats wants to stay in Toronto and all he gets is blasted on here...... its just crazy.

Dude, Kobe is way down. Because he jacks up too many bricks. They actually count those too.

@ Superjudge: PT is not a factor

from wiki:

The formula is: Offensive Rating = (Points Produced / Individual Possessions) x 100

Points can be produced through field goals, free throws, assists, and offensive rebounds. Individual possessions are the sum of a player's scoring possessions (field goals, free throws, plus partial credit for assists), missed field goals and free throws that the defense rebounds, and turnovers.

PT IS a factor though because with sufficient time a players true totals will surface. Guys with small minutes project bigger numbers usually.

Das all im saying man

aha. maybe he performs better off the bench, I guess 20 mins per game is a really good portion to stay focused and not get too tired and still get a lot of touches to produce

you could always 'clean up' the list for starters only I guess

Either way the list is shiet it really does not tell the whole story...

Who cares if Jose or anyone else on that list has a good offensive rating, if they play no defence they suck!
