so wait, say two teams are tied for fourth. the lotto balls are split, and the team that lost wins the lottery, and the team that won it get the fifth pick. The team that won the toss would then get the first pick?

Raptors get 5th pick Cavs get 6th pick Both teams would then get the same amount of lottery balls for a chance to win the lottery. |

So from then on, it works as usual in the lotto. If your ball is drawn, you win. If someone behind you gets drawn, you slide back a spot. |

That was one costly win.
My gut? We'll finish 7th last. My gut's gut? We'll drop a spot to 8th. But an asset is an asset. Makes me wonder if at that point, Lamb with his wingspan and shot is the BPA. |

If we dropped at the lottery to 7-8th I would hope BC would do anything he could to make a deal to move up. This is his most important draft since coming here imo. A deep draft, his chosen coach, his rebuild. He needs to make something happen.

Portland doesn't have a PG signed for next year. so I could see them trade their pick (#11) and keep jerseys pick. Calderon/Mathews/Batum/Aldridge/??? FA with Ed Davis and their pick coming off the bench |

Cleveland still plays washington twice, a flailing Magic team, a struggling Sixers team, and Detroit. It's entirely possible that they end up with a better/worse record than Toronto.
Sacramento could very well catch us as well. And there's still some slim hopes for the Hornets catching us. They should win two more for sure, with a real possibility of two more if they catch teams resting or on back-to-backs or something. But man this team needs to stop hitting 4 pointers in clutch time to go along with all of that. They need to lose to the Nets on the last night of the sched to make up for last night's win. |

The d leaguers did fine. They shot 23 percent in the first half as a team, and then fumbled the lead away in the 4th. Boston just gifted a game. That same sort of thing can happen to the other tankers yet.

Before, I was thinking Ed and our pick to move up as high as 2nd for a shot at MKG or Beal, but that # 2 pick had really better work out if we do that. I heard an interview where Casey's priority is bringing in someone with a very high motor. (I guess a Garnett personality?) MKG has that, but I can't say I have actually seen much explosiveness from him. That's needed on this team.
And that is already 2 potential starters as rookies. That's why I'd expect the draft to be adding a piece and the big splashes would be free agency and movement of assets to bring in upgrades to 2 positions. i.e. Players, not prospects and potentials. |
