Raptors TANK FREEDOM!

Time to celebrate! Thursday is tank freedom day!

Tank freedom day is not the May lottery, nor the June draft, nor the July free agency. It starts Thursday night. Even though they could have tanked harder, I'd like to thank all those who contributed so well during the 2 year tanking period.

The tank all-stars:

C -Alabi- Couldn't even get into a pre-season game but he's out there tanking hard now. We appreciate you, Solomon!

PF - Joey Dorsey - Baby Dwight, you're "big for no reason" and we sincerely appreciate you!

SF - Julian Wright - You refused to allow yourself to be put into a game during garbage time because you knew you might defend someone and that is terrible for the tank. Thus kicking yourself out of the league was an incredible sacrifice for our tank. We thank you!

SG - Trey Johnson - Who? Exactly!

PG - Macus Banks - Well worth the puzzling contract and beautiful for our tank. Tank nation loves you, Marcus.

All-tank coach - P.J. Carlesimo- Why were you here again? Doesn't matter. Merci.

Tank MVP - Rasual Butler - You showed us all a tank could be and more. All the best of luck with that new team you joined for the playoffs.

Let's celebrate!

this is a must tank, if the nets don't land a top 3 pick i think not 100 percent sure portland gets this pick

one it takes the nets away from geting a top player in the draft, and another it makes it harder to sign deron williams,

if everything plays out with boston on its way down we could reclaim the atlantic championship as soon as next year

its weird how portland and toronto will be drafting close together again,

Even Andrea's excited.

And 10 to 1 he's here next season, with Demar at 230 lbs with a shaved head and a chip on his shoulder.....and a set of more talented teammates.

I remember when the lockout was still going on, I'd prefer if the season was cancelled to avoid watching the games. But I have to say, it was a relatively successful season; it appears that we changed the defensive culture of this squad and remained competitive for most games. Hopefully this will be last season that we have to tank for a while.

Well, I have to ask, if the result does end up being our assets and money gets a stud at PG and SF to go along with JV, Bargs and Demar, was it worth it?

I mean, we could have just kept aiming for 7th to 12th for the next 5 years, with a couple of bandaids and a couple of short playoff appearances.

True, but if you trade for them, they have to come play....except for Alonzo Mourning.

They finally have a chance to fill in specific holes with young talent, not a buch of mis-matches like we've been seeing. It was like a series of rosters made up of "best players available" that had no real hope.

The celebration was pre-mature, and the tank was a failure. The Raps won the next game against the Nets, which caused them to drop two spots in the lottery.

The Raptors didn't win that game as much as the nets won at losing. And even that wouldn't have been so bad if thy could have won he resulting coin toss. And even that might have not been that bad had they just picked Drummond?

It's funny that Masai talks about karma in these matters. Bring on all that good karma we've got owed to us.
