hehe

What fool started that thread.

We need another thread that lists tanking failure.

Like ways we could have easily lost more and tanked harder, or players we could have selected.

How could we have had Barnes, George & Curry they were all picked ahead of where we were positioned?

"Ways we could have easily lost more and tanked harder" was 1 of the 2 points Ammo listed before the pics started coming.

I swear your post count could easily be cut down by 47 billion.

That's ridiculous, may as well put Lebron on the list, if we had only tanked harder that year. Fuck me

So was Drummond...if we had lost one or two more games in each of those 3 seasons, we could have easily had

Curry/George/Barnes/x/Val

Drummond was picked after us... Anyway, to say if we lost more games we could have had so & so. Hell, if we tanked harder 9 years ago we would have had a shot at Lebron.....we didn't so what's the point in discussing that?

No, you're ridiculous.

Barnes and Curry were players only a couple of spots away from us in their respective draft years. It only would have taken a few more losses to grab either of them. George was more than a handful of losses away, but had we known Bosh was going to leave and we could have traded him in 09 to begin the tank earlier that season, he was easily within reach. None of them required huge amounts of luck, like winning the lottery to grab Lebron. Grabbing those guys just required some more losses. Horrible post by you. -47 billion.

Again, Lebron required at least some luck because any team that got him needed to win the lottery. The other players were drafted in slots just determined by win/loss records.

Why the hell do we discuss a whole bunch of other stuff that you bring up? You don't have a monopoly on deciding pointless conversation.

Yet here you are discussing it. Shut your pie hole then if you don't want to discuss what I bring up, nobody is forcing you.

Are you so dumb that you don't see how your second post is more applicable to you? When I asked the question, I was simply asking it of you because you initially raised it. So maybe apply your own second post to your first one.

It's funny that Masai talks about karma in these matters. Bring on all that good karma we've got owed to us.

Lol reminded me of this

Please, let's face it. If you are already unabashedly in the tank, get all you can on the way up. It was one of the few times the organization basically admitted it. If you are not winning and you know it, lose plenty. If I'm filing for bankruptcy in August, I'm loading up the credit cards in July with stuff I need before I make my come back.

Play youth, spread minutes around the bench, whatever. They blew it because it was not that they were trying to be bad. They were bad, and did not do all they could to get what the league's system sets up to reward bad teams.

At the very least, we should have JV, Drummond, Amir and any stiff you want to name terrifying big men for the next 10 years. As someone pointed out, even after you blew it, you had a chance to redeem yourself and it looks like you shot yourself in the foot. Why?

JV, Drummond and Amir is still a team of wishes and dreams. Keep tanking.

Tanking is like the ultimate hind-sight strategy.

I think they were tank-tastic and crap-efficient. It's like being in an ugly contest with a big prize for ugly. It's not a strategy if you are ugly. Stay ugly and win.

We blew it. It was right there. At worst, Drummond was flippable very quickly. That's why there was all the outcry draft night. Drummond wasn't the gamble. Ross was. It's not a hindsight, beat up on Colangelo thing. I've tried to sugar-coat it for my own sanity, but it's just.........so comedic.

Having said that, I hope they are never again in a position where it's so bad, part of best practice is using strategy to boost lottery welfare from the league at the cost of your paying fans.

Thinking it all comes down to Drummond is just really missing the point of what is making a winning team in today's NBA.

Lebron is the best player in the league, and he wasn't able to be the best player until he joined a team with the right type of environment to enable him to be the player he is today.

I just don't understand hindsight saying we should have drafted Drummond. part of it has to do with the fact that it is hindsight, and part of it as to do with the fact that Drummond is Drummond.

As a Raptor fan, it's exciting just to see what happens next without a Gm who is dead-set on a player who is fucking useless being the cornerstone of the franchise. Let's see what happens with some players worth cheering for...Derozan, Lowry, Val, Amir, Etc.
