Swirsky: Bosh/Marion/AP??

Chuck Swirsky puts in his 2 cents.

Quote:
Will the Raptors trade Chris Bosh? As of now, no. Toronto general manager Bryan Colangelo is a brilliant man. A sharp man. He is dynamic and bold and not afraid to be a risk taker. He also knows if Bosh signs with a team well under the cap next offseason he may lose his star player and receive nothing in return. That's a recipe for disaster. Toronto can pay Bosh more than any other club, due to the sixth year add-on, but why take that chance?

Regardless of the conference, if the Raptors get a deal they can't refuse I deal Bosh this offseason while his value is the highest. If they wait until next February's trade deadline, a team will not gut its roster for a player that will become a free agent in five months. The Raptors' franchise has grown up. They can take the hit of moving Bosh. This isn't 2001 with Vince Carter toying with free agency and the city holding its breath, fearing if Carter leaves the franchise is one foot out the door, as well. Toronto is a solid market with great fans. If Bosh is traded they'll receive quality players in return and rebuild with a solid core group. Only time will tell.
Quote:
Shawn Marion: Another case of a player who may be disappointed with his market value. Good, but not great. If he wants to return to Toronto at the right price, he'll return to Canada.
Quote:
Anthony Parker: If I ran the Cavs I'm dialing him up at 12:01 AM on July 1.

agree, trade Bosh now while he is worth something and get rid of ap and keep marion for the right price. Sounds good to me

Should I not be confused? Is he not saying that the Raptors will not trade Bosh, and then immediately goes on to explain why they almost certainly will?

nah, he's just saying that the team is probably a bit better off now, and able to trade a star. The city and the franchise could handle it.

Why is Chuck still covering the Raps? Shouldn't he be focused on the Bulls? Wheres Devlin???

I have to agree, though. Add AP to the Cavs and they are a killer team.

Maybe. Either that or he'll come off the bench and play equal minutes.

West is a point guard I think, and Wally has his off days. AP is mr. consistent.

West started at SG for Cleveland last season, and Gibson came off the bench for PG. Either way West and Parker will share same minutes at the 2.

Not by much. AP is getting more and more inconsistent. I remember the first 30 games last season he was one of our least consistent players, and he's only going to get worse from this point on.

West stepped up in the playoffs.
Until the ECF of course.
They're whole team except Lebron pulled a disappearing act.
