Sun Sentinel: Heat come full circle, back to eyeing JO?

The Miami Sun Sentinel is reporting that the Suns have ruled out trading Amare Stoudamire to the Miami Heat. Therefore it appears that the Heat are coming full circle and looking at the JO deal that's on the table.

"There is no rule prohibiting any deals taking place over the All-Star break. So maximize a schedule that has the Heat only playing one game in 8 days (Thursday vs Chicago) and do it then".

Does the Marion trade even make sense for us anymore? The playoffs are pretty much out of the question, so it seems to me like we'd be ditching JO solely for cap space in 2009 instead of 2010. That's unless Colangelo can (or even wants to) convince Marion to re-sign.

if we don't trade JO, we are fucked ... we'll have no room to sign anybody this summer, and we'll lose parker and moon ... In this economy, there's no way we go over the luxury, so we'd probably end up with a crappier team compared to last season ...

so yeah ... we wither trade o'Neal, or we completely blow the team and start over. I vote for the 2nd ...

Why would you say that? I think that if the Raptors went over the lux tax and had a good team, we would prob sell out every on game in the season (well minus a select few of the worst teams) I know that last season we sold out 30 of the 42 games, at we were a .500 team. Imagain if we actually had a good team. I think its mroe mlse not wanting so spend the money. Espcially since the leafes suck, going over the lux tax would get us a good team ( a real 3-4 placing team) and sell out a shit lod of games, and merchandise

to hell with miami.
they had us all over this trade a few weeks ago, then hung us out to dry.
now they wanna bring it up again since JO is playing amazing? miami, and geaseball Riley can kiss our asses as far as i'm concerned.
we were pretty much bending over backwards a few weeks ago for them, and they passed because they were afraid of JO's knees. now they want to initiate talks again.
no thanks.
keep overrated marion and rot.

I'll say this again. If we want cap space with no bad contracts, the best place to deal is NY. We can get Marbury who is a 20 mil expiring this year and the Knicks can get more contracts that expire in 2010

i say trade jo for any expiring contract out there
rest bosh's knee for an extended period
put some more stress on ABs shoulders, give hump more minutes, play jawai
all this would drop us down the standing and leave us in the lottery with a
6,7,8.... or maybe even a first

haven't you read the article on NBA.com because of the economy team owners are losing mad money, one even lost 1 billion dollars, so the Raptors dont want that happening to them even though they sell alot of games. But i think were at an advantage because Canada's econmy is as bad as the states, unless it doesnt matter in the nba.

I think MLSE makes most of their money on boxes, corporate and private. If the corporate world suffers, so does MLSE ...
And it doesn't even matter since if JO stays we can only do a MLE contract, which will not make much of a difference considering how bad we are right now ...

I would think next season JO's contract has broader appeal next season when more teams will know they want to free space sooner than later. If you get the value you want now great, but I don't think anything needs to be forced.
