Collison/Calderon
Mayo/Henry
Granger/Dunleavy
Hansbrough/McRoberts
Hibbert/Foster

If Indiana gets a power forward, they will become contenders in the East.

For 7-8th maybe. But that's not much more then a .500 team imo. BTW, this rumour is complete bullshit anyway since nobody else has brought it up. This guy pulled this out of his ass.

In a few years, that team will be dangerous, especially if Mayo grows into the player he was projected to be when he was drafted and Collison and Hibbert continue to improve their games.

But like you said, this deal is probably not even being discussed at all. Too bad for Pacer fans.

Its Either Mayo OR Gay that will be on the block. Certainly not both...

That being said, if this deal did go down and we kept our pick and we drafted a PG, all we'd need is a real Center that can defend and rebound and we'd be a lot better with Knight/Walker, Derozan, Gay, Davis, Defensive Center?

Indiana isn't giving up much, lets snag Hibbert while we're at it.

what a mistake sending him away...I'd take him too even though you're being facetious. Hibbert with Bargs could've been nice...

How so, apparently we weren't gonna pick him anyway.

Common misconception is that Hibbert was picked by raps and then included in the trade. What essentially happened is that the trade was completed before the draft but could not technically happen until after. Raps included a first rounder and Pacers included a second rounder. The Raptors technically chose Hibbert but it was done solely at the request of Pacers. Likewise, the Pacers selected Jawai, but again, that pick was made solely at the request of the Raptors. If the Raptors had not traded the pick away, who knows who they would have drafted.

Curious, if Hibbert was gone, would that trade have gone through? Probably more rhetorical now.

Bargnani, Calderon and Barbosa for Dahntay Jones, James Posey and Rudy gay is a good trade.

no, i'm sure you would trade for Rudy Gay, just that you'd only trade for him if it was the right trade
you wouldn't reject a trade if it involved a bunch of scrubs for Gay

there was a trade rumor involving, Indiana, Memphis and Toronto is this the one?

Memphis gets:
Paul george, Barbosa, bargnani
Indiana Gets:
Calderon, Mayo and xavier henry
Raps get:
Gay, Jones and Posey
and we draft kemba

Our Team:
Walker/Bayless
Derozan/Jones
Gay/Posey/JJ/Kleiza
Ed/Amir/Reggie(if he resigns)
Defensive C/Alabi

That is a playoff team right there.

Except the "Defensive C" - someone that at this moment doesn't actually exist.

FIXED:

Walker/Bayless
Derozan/Jones
Gay/Posey/JJ/Kleiza
Ed/Amir/Reggie(if he resigns)
Reggie/Ajinca/Alabi

I'm not sold on that front court. Reggie is a fan favorite, I know, but the guy is constantly injured and can't finish around the rim. He can get a bunch of rebounds, but otherwise he's not someone you want to rely on as your starting center.

I'd love that trade to happen, but I doubt it. Memphis does not really benefit from the trade. By taking on Bargnani and Barbosa's contracts (assuming he does not opt out), they will not have a lot of money to work with on the free agency market. They have made it clear that re-signing Marc Gasol was a key objective, and I think this move prevents them from doing so.

barbosa expires after this coming season (as does posey's). Gay saves them almost $40 Million in guaranteed money by taking on Bargs instead of him.

To me this is a move they make if they are set on keeping Gasol, although I am sure they could do it without moving Gay but who knows.

As little as it means, there was actually a separate posting at RealGM from one of those 'insider' posters reporting the same trade, apparently from a source in Italy. Of course, it is likely just a pre-teen posting what they found at that other site. But take what you will from that.
