BC staying has nothing to do with Phil Jackson coming here or not coming here. From most things that i've read he isn't angling for a GM job. More of a president & consulting position. At the very least he can take the presidency away from BC and if next season is a failure He can be the GM if he wants to be and hire whatever coach he wants. Hell even if it's a decent season that could also happen.

MLSE is handling BC like BC handles Bargs. We need to move on and stop hoping for them to live up to their reputation.

And that might be the problem. Demar and Rudy are treated like the favoured children, and the bench isn't up to the bench's of the other teams. BC favours the "pretty" players over the nastier types. Where are our Chris Andersens, Taj Gibson's, Kendrick Perkin's,Kenyon Martin's, Tony Allen's, Derek Fisher's, guys who play the game north/south with a chip on their shoulder. Demar especially, and Rudy, somewhat less, are east/west players and probably aren't too comfortable getting in the face of an opponent, but Demar would probably whine to the ref that Tony Allen bitch-slapped him and it ruined his two-step shuffle to the basket.

Plus we'll prolly sign a vet C (like Magloire) to fill that role. Hopefully a JO, Camby or Dalembart.

Kleiza is so banged up, he may never play an NBA game again.

Acy was a rookie who had to go to the D-league twice.

AA wouldn't be a rotation player on any playoff team- he looks for his own shot too much.

Lowry has the edge, until Casey emasculates him.

Hardly. Expecting more is delusional actually. Especially since we have the same team today that just missed the playoffs yesterday.

Lol...ok... go ahead and explain how his post is not reality based and how we are better, or how I'm delusional for not thinking we are top 4-5.

Someone can explain it to you if they could decipher your train of thought.

FWIW, it's my own post, not "his"

I think at this point the franchise is not only content to continue to suck, they enjoy it. Lets keep it simple:

The guy doesn't get his team into the playoffs for 5 years and we've only made the playoffs twice in his time with the organization, and he's rewarded with another year.

WE MUST EMBRACE LOSING. WE'VE BEEN LOOKING AT THIS THE WRONG WAY THE ENTIRE TIME.

Joey, either you replied to the wrong guy, or you don't know what is going on here. Seriously, look at how the conversation started.

The expectations comment by Niggles was in relation to the Raptors needing to bring in new coaching and management, not the roster. Niggles wants BC and Casey replaced and agrees with you that the roster is not good. When Niggles refers to people having too low of expectations for the team, he means that they accept Colangelo and Casey, when they should want more. Ataf was the one who implied the roster could become more.

You seem to think Niggles meant people should expect more from the roster, but he meant they should expect more from the organization in the form of an elite coach and front office. That was my interpretation.

I also think the roster needs upgrading. The current group might squeeze into the playoffs, only to be cannon fodder for their opponents. Better coaching and management might win them 1 round. Hubba-hubba actually thinks the current team is top 4/5.

Yeah, I got that:

What you were saying was pretty clear, although you seemed to be suggesting replace the management immediately so that the other things follow.

I don't think Jo-Jo thinks the roster is not good, just the opposite in fact,

The way I look at it, another year is hardly an indictment of ownership as embracing losing. I mean it just isn't. It's a year. It would be nice to see a more definitive, clear cut direction immediately, but if things are handled the right way over the course of the year, it might prove to bring a change in direction in that it's not going to necessarily be a Colangelo within the BS political framework we saw before where he was able to wield a lot of power. I would argue that hasn't really been the case since just before the sale. And the results haven't been too bad since then. Not great, and he just might not be the right guy to get it done long term, but then he's only getting a year, supposedly. I can live with that.
