Apparently Jay Mariotti from the Chicago Sun-Times knows something we don't here in Toronto. That being that we might as well enjoy having Bosh now because in two years he's likely as good as gone while either or heading to Orlando or one of the Western Conference teams.

It's still too soon to predict what he'll do, but it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if he did test the market elsewhere that summer.
![]() I just think this year we'll determine alot for him personally. If we disappiont this season and underacheive, then it could seal his fate and future here in Toronto. |

fine, the media wants to report that Bosh is 'leaving' go ahead.
the thing that irks me is that this idiot refers to it as "fleeing". bosh will "flee" toronto... as if he's fleeing from prison or some other terrible location. that is what bugs me. |

I applaud the move SJ, but I dunno if you're likely to get a very legit response from him. This is probably a totally fabricated statement that he just casually tossed out there.
Mariotti is a pretty well documented dumbass. Being on ESPN inflated his ego just a tad. I mean, this guy covers Chicago sports for the biggest paper in the city, and is constantly criticized for not going in the locker room. How the hell are you supposed to properly cover the Cubs or the White Sox without speaking to Lou or Ozzie? This guy gets blasted in print by other columnists at his own paper...he's that bad. |

I'm saying the response won't likely further Mariotti's argument. Stephen A Smith and Marty York, while opinionated and often ridiculous, are intelligent basketball minds to some degree. They would likely be interested in explaining themselves and discussing their work. Mariotti is a douchebag. I don't think a guy who is allegedly a huge prick is going to get engaged in a spirited debate about one off hand comment he made that really had nothing to do with the article. I'm not doubting SJ's abilities to elicit a response from writers. I'm doubting Mariotti's abilities to back up that statement. |
