- Still few games out of playoffs

- Acknowledges that he knows some people want to go downward and pick high in draft, but its not in his DNA to (tank) per say

- Regarding deadline he says he doesnt feel pressured in any way. He's always lookin to make the team better, whether the team is doing great or not. Wont make a bad deal for the sake of making a deal. Will make one if it makes the team better this year and afterwards.

- Praises the character of the team, but acknowledges that they're not putting it together.

- If the right deal comes along, will make it.

- Regarding Bosh. Bosh hasnt made a decision. Has a good relationship with him and his agent and will see what Bosh indicates later on. He's still a cornerstone player of this franchise.

- Acknowledges that Bosh and O'Neil together on court does not ooze chemistry.

- Not ready to call the JO trade a failiure particularly because of his health issues and because the team itself hasnt played with intensity. If they play like they did tonight against the Lakers, their record will be better.

- Bosh MRI shows a sprain and will be treated accordingly. Will wait for the joints to calm down. Will probably sit down and miss a couple of games.

- Regarding Triano he praises his communication with the players. Players respect him. Has paid his dues and deserved a shot to coach. Has a lot of experience. Hasnt done anything to lose the job. Team losing has nothing to do with Triano, but the players.

I agree completely in regards to the downward spiralling of this team. It's been mentioned a few times by a few guys here, but when Garbo went down, we too suffered a huge let down and I still say it was one of the contributing factors to why AB played poorly. He was a mentor for him on the bench and with him gone, his game suffered as well.

I've always though the team has been in a downward spiral since Stan Albeck had a stroke.

You know, he is always talking about how the garbo thing is when the team started to go down. Im sick of hearing him say that. An injuery that happed to a 4 million dollar player 2 years ago should not still be effect the team. Ok if the same happend to Bosh or TJ (at the time) then ya it would have hurt for a bit, but come on it was garbo. as much as i loved the guy u gotta move on. We have had a ton of time to get a replacement for him, and his position is not even the problem now. Get over garbo. (Although we are still paying the prix so thats something im pisseda about)

But your judging this purely from a financial perspective and not from an emotional one. Garbo probably showed the most heart and toughness of any player in Raptors history during this short time. Being surrounded by players like him makes others better and is contagious. I think don't think its a coincidence that this team became alot softer once he left.

I dont' put it all on the players...soemtimes the coach needs to find ways to motivate his players and I dont' beleive from what i've seen that's one of Jay's strong points. His quieter approach has certainly helped Graham and Bargnani though.

Not to mention that Garbo was always active on D, played within his game, was tough as nails and never once mailed it in. Our defense I'd argue was getting significantly better with him in the line up. Never once did he pout about playing out of position. He simply played the game the right way. Hell, it was something that we were regaining with Rasho late last season and now we lost that as well.

yup. totally true, doc. Jorge is my faovirite raptor of all time for the reasons that you mentioned, but at the same time, Colangelo really should stop using Garbo as an excuse. It does sound like an excuse to me. Why hasn't he found more Character guys to bring in?

i have said the same thing several times. Garbo and Carlos were the heart of this team off the bench and right now, that has become a serious issue. with no bench, the starters are often left out on nights they are clearly not playing well. until our bench guys like joey and will start to play at an nba level every night, this team will struggle with depth. BC has taken no steps to acquire anyone that is even close in sheer grit that Garbo brought to the floor and i would suspect the locker room as well... this team lost it's heart when garbo went down and carlos left... Bosh is not that kind of player and will never be that for this team. maybe ron artest should be brought in for that reason alone, he would hold these guys accountable for floating as they do most nights... just a thought or two...

this is all about the players!! read what JO said the other day again... this team has no one who will take these guys by the balls when the coaches leave. i have coached at several levels of ball from ages 5 + 6 up to college and i can tell you, my words were just that most days... there is usually one or two guys who "motivate" their teammates to do what is required to win or compete night after night. this team has no one like that. THE PLAYERS get played to play the game, and very well i might add. the problem is, that is not enough and it shows that this team is full of guys collecting paychecks. there is no disgust when they get thrashed... no emotion when they get 20 points up on a team... that is why teams can climb all the way back on us.. they play the game as if they really don't care about what they do and it shows.... night after night... garbo and carlos brought that to this team...

Carlos sucks. Just leave it at Garbo.
Carlos definitely cared about what he did on the court. He consistantly made selfish decisions.

BC got really screwed since JO didnt work out... his max contract prevented us from signing any1 during the off season, or being able to trade for anything at this point (unless we move JO of course)
if Bosh is still the cornerstone, then our only option for the future is to move JO and his huge contract away since if this keeps up we wont be able to sign anything this coming off season either...

Here's all I have to say regarding Bosh:

Let's say you're dating a girl and she wants to go on vacation with you.

So you think "Sure I'd go on vacation with this girl"

And then she says "I found a really great deal around Christmas this year"

If you think "Well shit, now that is 10 months away, so if I say yes, I'm locked into this thing for another 10 months" that is a BAD thing.

That is what Bosh is doing, he doesn't want to commit, because he doesn't feel love in his soul....He isn't happy and he won't admit it to himself.

He's not a liar, he's just in an unfulfilling relationship so he is scared to say he'll go for more because he doesn't actually WANT it... He just doesn't want to ruin what he's got because he may be stuck with us whether he likes it or not because nothing BETTER comes along....He's playing his cards right....But he has a wandering eye!

I can agree with that. I personally loved garbo also. He was my favorite player on this team until he went down. But still, I find it to be more of an excuse for BC. This did happen 2 years ago. We did have 2 off seasons to try and correct this. I think its just a little to late to be placing our teams shitty ness on garbo going down. Right now, the only things he should be saying is we suck becuase our: lack of a bech, backup PG, and horrible wings.

And the gamble he took with moon and kapono this year is going down in flames! I hope moon is traded, if not he will not be resigned.

nice comparison Renihan.

Something tells me the Raptors may be struggling with the same decision even though they are the ones with the plane tickets.

Is Triano the coach, or is Colangelo taking on a lot of that responsibility himself? It's odd that we are seeing the three bigs starting again, along with his idea of Parker at the point. I think he's been a little meddlesome at the very least, from the time that he put Sam on a short leash, or maybe as early as the poor finish last season.
