Default Streaking for Seven--Raptors vs. Knicks 4/5/2009 Over/Under Poll

Well surprise surprise! The one and only sportsbetting savant -LX- has taken the league in our end of the year battle for tickets to the Raptors home finale!

Remember, the top-3 pickers will get a pair of tickets to the Raptors final home game compliments of Raptorman and his website www.raptorman.ca

The 2nd back-to-back of the year vs. the Knicks commences tomorrow. Today, the Raps beat the Knicks 102-95 in a game that went incredibly below the under of 216.5.

Let's adjust a little bit and set the line a 207.5 .

Will the total points scored be over or under 207.5 points?

The line elsewhere looks like 219.5, which seems a bit high again.

As far as this is concerned, I wish I could buy a couple points to bring it down, but I'll go over anyways.

I set the line based on recent trends on raptorsforum

I was hoping to get equal action on both sides

why isn't it fair? I'm guessing you have zero reasoning.

because I compared your line to the official line and then chose my pick.

the official line was much higher, so it was only logic to pick "over" for your pick, which was still a good 10 points behind the Vegas line...

if we played with the official stats, I would have a much harder time choosing. And LX would've won.

I won, and I'm 2 for 2 for the games I've played, but I think we should stick to the official lines, much more accurate.

official line was 219.5, and yours was 207.5. The game finished with 215, which is much closer to the official line, than yours.

so I think your guessing isn't so accurate, same with your line.

Still doesn't mean anything was unfair, he had the same opportunity to bet over or under, just like everyone else. You thought you had an edge because I set the line low and you took advantage of that. -LX- thought he had an edge b/c of all the people betting on the over which means he couldn't open a big lead over the field if he won.

Finally, this is twice now you've stirred up trouble in these threads, if you're just looking for drama you're barking up the wrong tree. I set the line very early because it was on the back of a back-to-back, I knew a lot of people were on the site at the time (looking at post-game stuff) and I thought they might not realize the game was today. Also, the Vegas line was not "much closer", their final line was 220, 5 off, while mine was 8.5 off, pretty small difference.

I've set the line early almost every time, and this was the first time I was more than 2-3 points off from the eventual Vegas line.

well, by "unfair" I didn't mean genocide, or anything life altering. I think you are too sensitive to that word.

LX isn't my brother, don't me wrong, I have utmost respect for the gentleman, and I'm more than confident that he has the ability to speak for and defend himself, I was simply stating my opinion and how "I" would feel about it. Again, I don't know when LX made his choice, but I just assumed he didn't know the Vegas line, cause I take him to be more accurate than his last selection.

Now with regard to me "stirring up trouble" in these threads, guys that know me, also know that I don't stir shit up, especially something as silly as these picks.

I assume you are referring to that game where I made my selection when the poll was closed before the tipoff, and demanded my win. This was when we didn't have a prize, and considering my shady participation, I'm sure you can agree that I don't really care, but I think you just couldn't handle that I was right, and when I stated my pick in the thread, the game had yet to begin. Other members also agreed with me. Now I don't know what was so bad about it, you were wrong, I was right, I won an imaginary point in a fun, but pointless competition.

And also, when you say something like "why isn't it fair? I'm guessing you have zero reasoning.", it sounds a little...amm...unnecessary, (I wanna say bitchy, but I might be wrong, so I say mean and unnecessary)

Again, without even hearing my point, you assume I don't have one, it just doesn't sound mature.

As a way of stirring up shit, and barking, I shall read my Iranian papers now.

How is it unfair to set the line wherever he wants? You can choose over or under as you like, and if you can't guess it correctly, that's on you. I'm appreciative that he puts this together, so please don't ruin a good thing with irrational whining.
