Default Story: "I went to Chris Bosh's birthday."

Sounded like a fun time had by all.

In honour of his birthday being today, I'll tell everyone about my experience. In short, it was absolutely incredible. It was at a club called Maro in Toronto, and every single Raptor was there except Patrick O'Bryant (LOL). I'm going to give a run through of what happened the entire night.

First, we got there and along with about 20 others we were 10 minutes early, meaning the club wasn't even ready yet. (This was how excited we were). After waiting in line, we went in, passed through coat check, and the first person we see standing alone on the dance floor was Jay Triano. I immediately went up to him and introduced myself and he was a really nice guy. I commented on how tough the season was, etc. More about him later..

Next to arrive was Jose who was with his amazingly hot wife and he was chatting with Jay for a while. When I got the opportunity, I went up to him and asked him for a picture. He was less social than most of the other Raptors, and was also one of the first to leave. After him was Jake Voskuhl, and I think he was just happy we knew who he was. Followed by him was Anthony Parker, whom I caught before he headed to the booth. He was also with his wife and was nice enough to get a picture. I pulled the "I know you'll get asked this a lot tonight" line so he said of course. Next...Bargnani! He didn't even go to coat check and made a sprint-like walk to the booth. I knew I had to get a picture with him, but I had to wait. Anyway, soon around 10:45 Jason Kapono and Roko Ukic arrived together. I went up and greeted them and asked Jason for a picture. He said he needed to go to the booth first because some jackass was forcing him into the VIP. Roko was kind of hiding in the back, probably because he doesn't speak English well.

Out of the corner of my eye, crutches and all, it's Kris Humphries! He was accompanied by three women (what a pimp) and really wasn't that talkative, although I did tell him to have a safe and speedy recovery. For almost an hour, no one came and we were wondering if that would be all until Bosh came. All of a sudden we see Joey Graham by the bar and apparently the dress code doesn't apply to him. I have no idea how he got in, because he had a thermal on as well as a hat. My friends and I got impatient, so we decided to just go by the bar where he was. We asked him for a picture and he was more than accompanying. Definitely one of the nicest guys...told us to have a good time and said he'll see us later. After that, Kapono and Bargnani came by the bar to get a drink and that is when I finally got my pictures with them. I told Kapono I was disappointed he didn't win the 3pt competition this year and he jokingly said "I think I'm starting to lose my skills". Really nice guy.

Afterwards, Shawn Marion walks in and I screamed "Shawn!" and he turned and gave me a handshake before heading off to the booth. Finally, Chris and his brother Joel arrived at just after midnight. He was swarmed with cameras and reporters from the Score but I still managed to tell him Happy Birthday and shake his hand. Funny moment now...everyone was trying to get a picture with Bosh by his booth so we all stepped up beside his (at the booth right beside his) to get closer to him. At this point, they placed the velvet rope behind us and sectioned off their booth, so we had essentially gotten into the VIP without even paying or getting on a list. It was amazing...you couldn't have scripted any better scenario for how the night would go. Shawn's dancing moves had us laughing and Bosh was nearby with his brother signing autographs. Oh, and it was at this time that I saw POPS! He was getting his groove on with Shawn and some girls. Got to say hello as well as tell him how he better stick around next year. He said he hopes to because he loves it here.

All in all, if you actually read all of that (you lazy bums) it was an amazing night. And getting back to Jay Triano, he was tied with Kapono for most visits to the bar. We always saw him there, whether he was getting a beer or passing drinks back to girls. We also saw Joey fooling around with him a bit, so he is definitely a players coach despite our horrible record. Definitely one of the greatest nights of my life, and a Raptors fan's dream come true.

i wonder if RAPTORSBESTFAN attended?

sounds like a bit of a weird night. Did the guy win a contest or something?

I mean some strange guy just hanging around and calling out all the players by their name like he knew them or something? odd.

Anyone could have gone to it....I didn't go because I figured it would be full of weirdo fanboys...One would assume that I wouldn't be "hanging out" with the players...

So that leaves the other clientelle that are there on a sunday night and I wasn't thinking it would be a good scene!

I did hear about one chick (total skank) who ended up going, so maybe it wasn't a bad time? So maybe I'm off on the crowd.

He's probably too busy with the Idaho club scene anyway.
