Stein: Raptors talking to Houston about #8 pick

Quote:

Although sources stressed that no deal is imminent, Sacramento (No. 5) and Toronto (No. 8 ) have let Houston know that their top-10 selections are available. Sources say that the Rockets, in turn, have made both of their first-round picks available (No. 14 and No. 16), but the key to any trade going through could be point guard Kyle Lowry.

The Raptors have been especially fond of Lowry, who has been regarded for months as a borderline untouchable in Houston but more recently has publicly expressed his disastisfaction with Rockets coach Kevin McHale. Whether the Rockets are indeed prepared to part with Lowry, as talks with the Kings, Raptors and other teams continue, figures to be one of the bigger stories of draft week.

I would give up all 3 picks for Lowry. Get er done BC!

Bill Haverchuck 06-25-2012 12:23 AM

Too many rumors. Too much speculation. Please bring on the draft and July 1st so we can get this party started. I can't take it. :willy_nilly:

I just have this gut feeling Nash has already signed and they're waiting for July 1 to make the announcement. He is BC's cash cow.

You can make some trades before then. Unless they changed something this year, July 1st is when the free agency period starts. And since free agency is connected to some of the rumors, like signing Nash, it's another important date. Dominos will start to fall.

fuck SAC! they already have Isiah Thomas to build with :sigh: . I have a bad feeling they're offering Tyreke + 5th for Lowry and 14th.. that's a hell of a deal for Houston

I have a feeling that there is already a hush hush deal in place as well... and as I've said before, I don't think Lowry gets traded at the draft, as Dragic is an unrestricted FA. There's no way Houston would be so dumb as to possibly go from one of the best PG situations in the league, to losing both players, and going to the worst.

I'm actually LOVING all of this buildup. I think the Raps' brass have done a good job of letting a lot of people know that their draft pick is in play, and I think being in a contract year, BC is going to swing for the fences.

10gizzle 06-25-2012 01:27 AM

This is a bit weird.

I wonder who's the one to get Lowry

You're a stronger man. I'm ODing.

box92 06-25-2012 01:32 AM

maybe my trade idea is true? the 8th and Ed for lowry and 14th or 16th? :D

10gizzle 06-25-2012 01:37 AM

I would LOVE Lowry on this team.

But I think I'd love Nash more though...

I swear teams are allowed to trade once their teams are done playing for the year. Even while playoff teams are still playing.

Reggie for Kapono anyone???
