Westbrook is a top 5 Point Guard in the league, face it! Only Rondo,Paul and Rose are better, possibly Parker.

Obviously you rather have Durant take more shots as he is a 3 time scoring champ but alot of times,it's Westbrook's aggressiveness that brings OKC back into games when they're down double digits.

Also the Thunder had a 28-9 record this past season (playoffs included) when Westbrook took more field goal attempts then Durant so clearly OKC relies on Russell being aggressive offensively from a shooting standpoint.

Back on track, I'd take Lowry to get a change from Jose but I really hope Lillard slides to #8. If Toronto were to receive a later pick with Lowry, there's many options,I like T.Ross and Jones.

Dwight Howard won’t stay in Houston after the upcoming season if traded there according to NBA.com’s David Aldridge.
Quote:
A source with knowledge of Howard’s thinking said Monday that there was “not a chance” Howard would be persuaded to remain in Houston if traded there, and would leave next summer to sign elsewhere.
Quote:
"The Rockets have made it clear that they are willing to take Howard with no assurances that he’d remain after next season. "
Source: NBA.com

Why are the Rockets so crazy on Howard? Most people (Me included) think he wont stay. It's not like they have to go for a player like him to save the franchise :s they have a decent core. Rockets will be the Knicks of this trade but end up without the star aswell. They'll lose the core, and the star, and have to start over. Do they think Howard will be all sensitive towards the city and not leave? Or they think the 2012 doomsday shit is real and wanna make some noise before it's over? I mean for the ORL, would 5, 8 and all their other picks be good enough for Howard? Why would anyone want 4-5 rookies on a team:S
I know this post wasn't very Raptor related, sooo... the Lowery trade is a steal for us. I still like Jose more. TEAM JOSE. I unno I just hate the new pgs, attack first stuff. It's like having a sg playing pg. Pgs should be like Jose, this "dribbles too much, runs the shot clock" is all bs. He runs the offense, he makes the offense a team offense. He makes his team better, imo players like Westbrook don't. He makes the team get more wins cause he is a good sg, but he's holding back players like KD from scoring and getting the ball in his spots. I do NOT think Jose is better then Westbrook, just a better PG specifically on offense. Just trying to make a case that the PG position isn't a big issue as we all try to make it seem.

Westbrook plays similar to Rose. Rose is a better passer. Yes, Westbrook's apg didn't look that great this season but he's shown in the past he can be pretty solid. Also, traditional/pure PGs haven't won titles recently - the only exceptions are Kidd, maybe Billups, maybe Rondo, and maybe houston's pgs in the 90s.

Playing in a system that made use of traditional pg play? None that I can think of.

No he is not a traditional/pure pg. The triangle doesn't use one. We saw how much of a pure/traditional pg Fisher was when he was in Utah and GSW.

he definitely deserves the opportunity to prove himself and he'll get it at OKC, they won't trade him. My belief is he will improve but not change his style and with the tiny margins of the play-offs OKC could struggle with him at the point.
I feel your pain LK... hahaha... and I agree with you 100%.

he's 23. been in the league 3 years.
that is all.
The way that OKC played against the Spurs and the way that OKC played against the Heat was like night & day. Not the same at all.

Westbrook can grow.... yes, he is young.... but my only worry is that Coach Brooks LIKES him the way that he is and may not nurture any growth in his game (as a facilitating PG).

We'll see what happens.

IMO brooks likes team-ball and does want westbrook to be (much) more of a facilitator. You can hear it from the way he talks to the team and on occassion individually to westbrook (although you don't really hear much individual stuff.) Also when durant has got frustrated with westbrook IMO you can see it's coz his attitude is like "that's not what we talked about in the huddle."

OKC has commited itself to westbrook and because his value is so high right now, brooks could not get away with asking to trade him, it's just not realistic. His best chance is to slowly but surely try and develop him.

Sacramento at No. 5 and Toronto at No. 8. Those are the picks still generating the most trade chatter on the eve of the NBA Draft

Lowry + the 14th pick for the 8th pick would be solid (although I wouldn't mind 16th or 18th either).

If we didnt have to give up another player in a Lowry+14 for 8 itd be an amazing deal, but I just cant see that happening, Lowry is too good at this point. But even if we had to give up one of our players I still think itd be worth it. Lowry would be an absolute perfect fit here. Casey would love him.

#8, Davis

for

#14, Lowry

IMO adding a player to the deal actually helps us believe it or not. It allows us to keep most of our capspace while subtracting at a position with depth while adding a much needed young PG while still having a lottery pick.

Miami has one of the best Defences in the league, theres a reason they were different series.
