There was no call to start spending now. There was the notion that Colangelo did nothing here.

I do think though that spending teams become destinations and that there can be something in it for the franchise, beside playoff money....a higher profile brand, a good reputation around the league and expunging the mockery and laghingstock tag.

And that is why the need to be rid of MLSE takes precedence, in my mind, over the need to keep Colangelo. It's not a lose/lose situation. And it could become a win/win if there is money willing to be spent while holding everyone accountable and keeping everyone on the same page while a plan is carried out.

Could you imagine DD were he is at now with Bosh, Andrea, Jose + Bayless and Ed Davis as his back up. We would have been looking pretty. BC gave us a couple of our best seasons in franchise history.
So you think it has nothing to do with BC that he walked eh?

Also we lost in the first round, therefor winning the division didn't mean anything.

Sorry, but as a fan of this team it meant something to me. That was one of the funnest seasons to watch in this teams history.Theres always excuses with this fanbase. I wish fanbases for other teams in this city were this judgmental and harsh. If it isn't the weak division excuse, now it wasn't legitimized because they didn't win 2 more games in the playoffs.

No because of the instability of this organization, and the fact that we will never be an above lux tax team, which means we will never get out of the first round

When would you go over the tax with the Raptors? Remember you can't sign a free-agent to get over the tax. You can only go into the tax by re-signing your own players or a sign and trade. Also, remember that in a sign and trade between two teams over the cap, salaries have to match within 25%. So going over the tax that way is not that simple.

The only time I can think of would be the 1999-00 Toronto Raptors, but I don't even remember what that CBA looked like back then.

And if Bosh signed the max contract we threw his way, we would have been over the tax amount and we'd still be a pretty crappy team.

I just want a decision to be announced already, I'm sick of this "will they, won't they" situation.

With Bosh still here I don't know if the Bayless trade anfd JJ trade would have gone down. DD would have maybe be at where he is now if Bosh was here but certainly Ed Davis wouldn't be here or at least drafted at 13 by BC.

I would have to agree. It was accomplishment by our team. We're still a young franchise and to me getting the division title was an accomplishment. I guess the only reason why we're judgmental and harsh is because of all the losing happening. You must fail a couple of times in order to succeed.

BC overhauling the team proves that he is a man of action, and will works to improve a team.

He made 3 of these "overhauls". The first season we got the 3rd seed in the conference. The second one (O'Neal) and third (Turkoglu) left fans optismistic. He created a great team on paper and that's really all you can hope for. He doesn't have a magic ball that allow him to see in the future.

Good. Last time around, I wanted JAlen Rose out badly. Babcock got fired, Embry came in and Rose was traded. Now I want Bargnani gone and Embry might be the man once again. Bring it on. Colangelo had his chances, didn't do too bad, didn't do too good either. No loss in shaking up the front office.

Oh, and I think this has a lot to do with karma. BC had a "You're fired" coming his way ever since letting Sam Mitchell go for no real reason and "performance" as an excuse (we ere 8-9 in W-L column at the time), on top of that, tolerating Triano's terrible performance(87 - 145 since taking over). Totally inconsistent.

Best of luck BC, in the end, your big project, Bargnani, brought you down. If you just traded him two years ago, none would want to fire you.

He's not getting fired.

Just an unfortunate casualty of a money-hungry corporation.

That's just sugar coating it and making him a victim here. If he performed, there wouldn't even be a discussion.

Still, there remains a scenario in which itís likely Embry would take over. If Teachersí tests the market and doesnít like the offers itís fielding, if it halts the auction and reluctantly retains its 66 percent piece, Embry, who is 74 and hardly angling to take over the daily operation, will likely fulfill his duty and shepherd the club through the June draft and into a probable NBA lockout.
