I just think winning for three years would mean that we would be able to change the perception of the Raptors and Nash is a winner, plain and simple. He'd make our players look better, which would also help increase trade value and FA prospecting as well. Add in the fact that he'd bring a very welcome excitement to the franchise that few others could and while I'm hopeful to land a Batum/Iggy/Gay type player, the reality is that trades involving stars in the NBA aren't as common as we would all like to think. Teams trend on the side of caution when viewing their star players, and players in general, and that just doesn't bode well for a franchise that has been looking for a transcendant star since Vince left.

I would love to see nash come to toronto......4 years ago.

It will sell a lot of tickets. But i doubt it will give us many more wins. We need a dynamic sg or sf on the team that can get things done. Jose has been great for us and i would hate to lose him.

A lot of people have been saying lately that Jose isn't valuable in Casey's defense first system. This is just false. For one, because this team made their defensive strides this year with Jose as the starting point guard and there's no reason it can't be improved further. Casey is actually quite adept at hiding players who simply aren't the best man-to-man. Two, Casey on numerous occasions has mentioned how important he feels Jose is to the team and how much he likes him as a player and appreciates the high assist-to-turnover ratio, conservative halfcourt style he runs.

I'll admit Casey's system is very old school, conservative and halfcourt - ie. no room for error and why he doesn't like turnovers.

However, of course he's going to say good things about Jose. It's great for trade value. Would he ever tell the media that: my starting PG can't break down opposing Ds, his decision making is more conservative than the omnibus crime bill, he is a horrid defender, injury prone, and loves to tease us with a 20/10 game and then go out and get 4/4 the following night.

Yup. I've always liked Ramon. Especially since he tied the record for most assists by a buck in 1 game.

He could barely get on the court in their last two series... I don't think they can do better with their current situation but he really let them down.

It would be a nice little story, but Raptors fans wake up! Nash isn't coming to Toronto to play for this team. It's kind of like how Leafs fans always hoped/thought Gretzky would play for them...not happening!

Focus should be shifted to many of the young available point guard's in the league via the draft, free agency and trade block.

Nash would obviously make this team better and if he some how decides to play here for whatever reason I'd be happy, but with so many better teams in need of a point guard I don't see him coming to Toronto at this point in his career. For beginners he could end up in Dallas,New York,Miami way before Toronto.

BC hasn't drafted a Point Guard in his tenure as GM and the Raptors haven't drafted a point guard since Damon Stoudemire in the 1st round or lottery (wtf!) Time to select a PG,even if he backs up Jose for one year. I like Teague personally, but Marshall seems like the safe pick!

Where a player is drafted isn't the most important thing, but what team they fit

I.E. Rondo was drafted in the teens,by Phoenix! If he stayed with the Suns behind Nash maybe we wouldn't be seeing the Rajon that we are today. Boston turned out to be a good fit.

I think Casey is a good coach who would bring the best out of a player like Teague...I haven't seen too much Lillard,if he's that good TO should consider him.

You have to draft best player available. Teague might go 20th. Lillard is a surefire top ten prospect. Marshall might go in the lottery but he might slide out as well.

Just so you know, Gretzky had agreed to come but it was ownership that nixed the deal that Cliff Fletcher had manufactured.

Nash knows the value of what putting the Raptors back into the playoffs and bringing credibility to the franchise would bring to his legacy... it's not a guarantee he'd come, but it's definitely a realistic option.

And if we can add another name (Gay, Iggy, Batum, Gordon......??) he would be more inclined to signed here imo, especially if he gets a 3yr deal which i'm guess he'll be offered.

Nash in TO would be exciting but it wouldn't be the end of the world either if he didn't come.

I'd take Dragic as well. But man, can you imagine this city with Nash here, especially if a player like Gay is also added?

Nash on a 3yr deal + Gay has 3yrs remaining on his deal.

Actually, Ownership in Toronto actually said no to deals involving twice.

And we wonder why they never win!
