We see someone saying this every year. There is always a difference in talent between 8-16. And more choice. I'd much rather trade out all together than just move down. We'd get more.

Barnes was heavily scrutinized for his tournament play, but I think it's been revealed he was injured, id be highly surprised if he was available at 8, when his stock was at the 8-10 that was crazy to me, i think he'll go #5 right after MKG

Rivers and Waiters will certainly be available, and most likely Lamb will also be at 8

Unless GMs lose their minds and Beal or MKG slip to #8, I'm 99% in favour of packaging the 8th, a 2nd rounder and a redundant rotation player for a known commodity in the league.....hopefully a near all-star level commodity.

We're guessing!

If this team picks a guy at 8th who proceeds to have nothing but "potential" for the next 5 years, we've missed a chance to help the franchise. I'm not saying we allow the franchise to get robbed, like getting a Charlie Villanueva or Carlos Boozer for that package.

But there have been previous setbacks. We've got our asset to use and will still have cap space, the amnesty, Jose's moveable expiring and some other chips left.

Move that pick!

This! Although I wouldn't be that upset if we ended up with Lamb.

jeff b normally i would agree with you but this year seems different then any other, the draft is good but not great, your going to get some starters, maybe 1 or two allstars and a ton of solid bench guys, most drafts don't have this kind of depth

on nbadraft.net they got the Raptors taking lamb at 8th and mo harkless going to the magic at 19,

thats a big difference for a guy who some argue is better than lamb

hasn't been much talk of who we might pick with our 2nd rounder, unless i've missed it somewhere.

this is who nbadraft.net has us drafting: Kevin Murphy | NBADraft.net

of course it's so hard to know who will be available by that point or who we'll want to pick but this guy sounds interesting, norris cole type?

I wouldn't be surprised to see both 2nd rounders dealt.

Yeah, at least one of them, especially if the #8 isn't dealt.

Maybe with ED to get another pick ?(however it's doubtful as it appears BC and DC don't want another rookie beside the pick and JonasV).

good luck with that, you're trying to upgrade 6 spots in the lottery with 500k (the value of a 2nd rounder) and a rotation player (0 value -rotation players are widely available in free agency).

it will take a lot more than that, maybe ed davis or even derozan to upgrade from 8 to 2.

i'd like to use one of the picks and see if we can't unearth a gem! not a solo kind of "project" pick but a guy with one thing he's really good at and can be effective with straight away. And then if we're really lucky he'll develop to an unexpectedly high level.

Greg Mangano | NBADraft.net

our projected late 2nd pick.

The 37th pick might be tempting for someone, so trade that one and take a chance with the late 2nd pick.

Obviously, to get #2 (I assume MKG) we'd have to deal DD and ED along with the pick.

Based on.....? That's a slippery sloped matter-of-fact statement on this forum and to me way too much :cookie:

Well, the fact that a team just wasted an entire season and want to get talent and/or a star. Also, it's much more probable that's what it takes than someone who wrote, the 8th pick, a redundant rotation player and a 2nd rounder.

Wait, me and moremilk misread a previous post. The post said that if the raps don't get MKG or Beal, then the individual is in favour of dealing the 2nd rounder, 8th pick and a redundant rotation player for a known commodity, possibly all star talent in the league, which isn't impossible:

My previous point still has value though.

You're talking about a prospect still though. Two years ago Ed had just as much upside, three years ago Demar did.... you're really banking on the probablility of MKG maximizing his supposed potentail which isn't as likely as you're suggesting based upon your valuation of trade value required.
