Default Stan Van Gundy talks (warns) about hedo

I was browsing through youtube and i found this very interesting. It is stan van gundy talking about Hedo and it is very true:

Do you think it is trianos fault for turks low energy almost every game or his own fault.

Hedo needs to be contantly bitched at to perform at a high level. Triano isn't that dude. It's still Hedo's fault though 'cause he needs external motivation to play good.

edit - But yeah that statement by SVG is accurate.

I do agree with you but everyone was aware that turk needed external motivation before he signed with the Raptors so knowing that it was really up to the coach, Jay triano to be prepared to motivate him in whatever way works so i put more of the blame on triano. If it was something new we found out in toronto that he needed to be motivated then it would be more hedos fault but we signed him already knowing that.

Why would you hire someone that needs to be kicked in the butt to do their job???
Colangelo screwed up big time. It's on him. Triano can only do so much to motivate some of these guys the rest must come from the individual's desire to perform well

I think he's played alot better coming off the bench and with more energy..

Benching him and then taking his starter role away from JAY TRIANO and Colangelo's decision...

BC said it himself..

Who knows, maybe he is still saving it for the playoffs

In this case benching him without option to play 40 minutes (Triano doesnt do 6th man) is a dumb move

The comments could really be applied to our whole front line, or former front line. Bosh does bring energy almost every game, but we've seen how much he gets effected post-injury, by not being able to bring all of his energy into the equation. Bargnani is extremely similar to Turkoglu in this respect. Very skilled, but without the energy he loses the advantage of being the very good all-around, versatile player that he can be.

What kind of a man needs to be bitched at to perform? What is he a baby? He's getting paid 2nd most than any of our other guys and he's being a lazy fuck....time to start acting professional by doing your job the people want you to do it. We really could've used that money to sign a proffesional in the offseason.

SVG is a good coach. Triano needs to take a Human resource course or a leadership course lol to figure out how to motivate his players

Plus its understandable that his energy is down. Hedo and Dwight were the top 2 guys in Orlando. Coming into Toronto and having to be the 3rd guy and changing his role into a spot up shooter is a huge transition from what he did last year. You have to give Hedo a bigger role in the team, not just handing him the ball at the end of the game and expecting him to make the shot, when he's been cold the whole game and his energy is down.

this video greatly applies to the game on tv right now. He's never given the opportunity to be involved.

I wonder if BC saw that clip. SVG is spot on.
I guess no matter how old or how much money you make ... everyone has character flaws. Turks flaws are certainly not good one for a professional BB player.

How do you motivate a lazy ass when they have a contract that pays them irrespective of performance ... attacking a person's pride/ego is probably the only way.

Good find. I think Turks conditioning is the problem. He was horrible to start the year with his conditioning and now its just average. BC needs to get his fat ass a trainer in the offseason and force multiple daily workouts so he doesnt look and play like apiece of shit next year.

Good point. Turk was routinely huffing and puffing this season after a few sprints up and down the court. For a guy making $10/m a year, that is completely unacceptable. The guy needs to pull a Rip Hamilton and just run every day in the offseason to get his conditioning up.
