SPORTSNET.CA: Raptors mid-term grades

Quote:
Chris Bosh: A+

It would be unfair of the Raptors to ask for anything more from its all-star forward. Bosh leads the league in double-doubles (31) and trails only Dirk Nowitzki amongst power forwards in scoring (24.2). His career-high 44-point effort Wednesday in Milwaukee -- on the heels of a back-to-back -- suggests he has plenty of gas in the tank for the second half.

Andrea Bargnani: B+

Following an early winter swoon, the former first overall pick has been on a tear of late at both ends of the floor and is on pace to post career highs in points (17.5) and rebounds (6.5). But perhaps most importantly for the team, Bargnani is developing into a consistent shot-blocker and a solid defender against some of the game's elite big-men.

Jarrett Jack: B+

Despite some early season shooting struggles, Jack stepped up his play when Jose Calderon went down with a hip injury and the Raptors have been a different team ever since. The two point guards play a similar offensive game but the difference is at the defensive end of the floor where Jack is far superior. At the moment, the four-year, $20-million offer sheet he signed in the off-season is looking like one of Bryan Colangelo's better moves.

Amir Johnson: B+

When the Raptors announced they had acquired Johnson, Colangelo proudly touted him as "a man who's best basketball remains in front of him." As the last NBA player to have been drafted out of high school, it's easy to understand the Raptors GM's excitement. The 22-year-old has become Triano's first big-man off the bench, averaging an impressive 4.8 points and 4.8 rebounds in just 17 minutes per game, and he's still improving.

Sportsnet should have just gotten rid of their NBA tab on their site too. They should just forget about the NBA completely seeing as they stopped broadcasting it altogether. I havent watched that shitty channel since basketball left. Fuck sportsnet.

Paul Jones works for Sportsnet.

I'm pretty sure he knows a thing or two about basketball.
