Let's see what they say when they get to the Raps.

This thing is moving slow...over 40 minutes just to get to the 5th pick.

2:19 Chad Ford, ESPN Insider: So two broken down vets, three electric athletes and Chris Kaman. Yeah, the Clippers would do that ... maybe get Hubie Brown to coach.

2:20 Chad Ford, ESPN Insider: Paul Pierce didn't have 4 high-caliber playoff games left in him let alone 3 high-caliber years

2:20 sportsguy33: PP is a broken-down vet? He just played 100+ games in a season and guarded LeBron in Round 2 - successfully. His team came within a couple of plays of winning a Game 7 on the road. How is he broken down?

2:21 Chad Ford, ESPN Insider: He's one year away from KG land.

2:21 sportsguy33: Chad - do you watch the playoffs or do you spend all 12 months attending workouts for NBA prospects? That's a serious question. Do you watch NBA games?

2:38 [Comment From Greg Greg: ]
How about #10 pick to Toronto for Calderon?
Wednesday June 23, 2010 2:38 Greg

2:39 sportsguy33: Chad - would Toronto consider that? I like that idea. Also think Calderon is the captain of the Guys Whose Stock Is Lower Than It Should Be team.

2:40 Chad Ford, ESPN Insider: Calderon's deal is awful. Toronto has already tried to do that deal. Indy not interested in paying him $8 million a year for the next 27 years.

2:41 sportsguy33: Calderon: 3 years left at $29 million. He'd get that in free agency this summer. If he's really that available, the Knicks should be jumping on him for Curry and a future... oh, wait, they don't have any future picks until 2024.

Would Indiana actually offer that? Aren't they over the cap as it is? It would have to be the #10 and a contract or two for Calderon.

They couldn't match Toronto's offer last summer for Jack. Why the hell would they want to pay almost double for Jose Pylon Calderon?

I'm sure Ford and Jack had problems when they were in Indiana. Don't know if that would go over smoothly here. But I guess Ford could later on be flipped because he's an expiring.

Chad Ford, ESPN Insider: With the 13th pick the Raptors select -- Eric Bledsoe.

I think the team will eventually find a home for Jarrett Jack or Calderon. Bledsoe has too much talent to pass on here.

sportsguy33: Wow, I thought you would go Udoh there. I don't agree with that pick because nobody's trading for Jack (how bad was Colangelo's summer of 2009 by the way?????????) and you just told me Calderon can't be traded. So why Bledsoe?
Quote:
Chad Ford, ESPN Insider: They lack that explosive, quick point guard in their backcourt. I think they really need.

I think they'll pick one of Bledsoe, Bradley, Udoh, Patterson.

I'm ok with that, as long as Aldrich isn't picked. That guy has bust written all over him.

if Aldrich got selected at 13 and didn't pan out, would you really call that a bust? I don't want them taking him either, but I could see his value in the 10-20 range. Especially if they can't move jose, jack or banks.

How does Aldrich have bust written all over him? Every one knows that he's not an explosive athlete, but he is deceptively athletic, he can grab boards and play a bit of D. AT best, he'll be a solid, servicable bigman. Most people have his comparisons set at Joel Przybilla, and I think he can easily attain that goal. You know he's not gonna be an All-Star, but he's going to be a solid 5 in the league.

I don't think he'll be much in this league. And i don't want him here. JMHO

Bledsoe's not a bad pick. A guy who likes to push the ball in transition and plays great defense would do wonders. If we can get a second pick and draft a big man ie. Larry Sanders or etc. that would be icing on the cake.

Call it the "Andre Bargnani" symptom.

If the Raptors draft either Luke Babbit or Gordon Hayward, we could have potentially the worst defensive team in NBA history.

you can never have too much size and length... especially if it's athletic. Sanders would be a great late pickup on a bought pick

Bledsoe or Bradley is what this team sorely needs. Someone to anchor the perimiter that can defend. When was the last time we had that? We can hopefully get a PF or C with experience when we trade Bosh, or Hedo or Calderon. A fast PG that can play D is the start of trying to go in the right direction.
