What does "league sources" actually mean? Does that mean the Raptors organization or does that mean someone at the NBA office? or another team. And when is a team really not in a position to trade?

i truly think that when MJ pulled the plug on that Chandler deal, that took the wind out of our sails and really crushed us. BC has been reeling ever since.

anyone watch the USA team training/practices on rapstv? Chandler is looking healthy and really good.

To me, league sources could mean almost anyone, maybe guys like Aldridge, Bucher, other repoters with connections, other GM's?? Teams are always in a position to trade imo, but BC has options here considering he probably will spend up to the tax as he stated a few weeks ago.

+1 BC is scouring the league and is taking his time to get the best possible deal(s) out there because it's probably slim pickings at this point. I still say Jose will be gone, he won't keep him after after Jose was told he was already dealt.

I'm just going to say Alvin Williams was traded and then given back to us. Simply because he was traded once (jose) doesn't mean he's a "lock" to be traded again.

As for this source. I could say every team in the league is likely not done dealing. In fact, I'll go on record now and say it. "All 30 teams in the NBA are looking at trades to improve themselves and maximize their assets". Easy.

Don't you guys really think if they said BC was done dealing that ticket sales would plummet? With his recent big time addition of David Anderson BC may be scouring the leagues GM's to find out how he can get Aaron Gray ,Renaldo Balkman and Chris Quinn on the roster

Yes - BC said he liked his team. Now he says he realized that he didn't have a franchise player, that the point guards were being shoe horned into combo guard roles and that they were lacking mental toughness.

He loves to have things both ways though. I don't see how nobody wanted anybody moved. I sure as hell wanted to see a move. I would say you might have wanted to see Hedo moved Jeff. Not that I foresaw the collapse at all, but this team could have not only made the playoffs, but won a few playoff games with the right addition.

Colangelo got a buzz going about being buyers, and being agreeable to paying tax, and it was by and large bullshit.

Oh - and he raised expectations about the return of Reggie Evans - being sure to point out that he would not only add toughness, but work well within the offense. Another huge fail.

Who doesn't like to have things both ways? In January-February it was rumoured that we might be going after Butler or Iggy and many were saying, noooooo we can't mess with the chemistry.

If he made a move at the deadline this place would have been pretty divided.

Now many of those same people are ripping BC and saying he should have traded Bosh or got something at the deadline etc....

Another example is last summer, everyone was bowing down to BC predicting a top 5 team and perhaps a 2nd round appearance. Now.....well they're not nearly as positive about his great moves last summer.

Funny, most here were blowing a load over him while watching pre-season last fall and thought he was gonna make a big difference once back in January. Raptors fans---huge fail

yep...the people that were praising the team & bc durung the all start beak are the same people that are bashing the team & bc right now...
but when shit hits the fan, everyone claim to have been against the move (or the move that wasnt made)...
this shit goes on every offseason....

The standing ovations were ridiculous, without a doubt. But the bigger issue for me is the judgement of the man at the helm, suggesting that the biggest surprise of the season would be Reggie's offensive abilities when asked on the FAN by Eric and Jack. And that was after not wanting to consider Beli, because it should be no surprise what he can do.

It was a little more involved than all that. I agreed with Chisholm that he should be careful not to mess with the chemistry by just making a move for the sake of making a move. Iggy could have been a disaster as an add on. Butler as it turned out, didn't exactly gel with his new team. But there could have been a good move that could have strengthened the chemistry by getting rid of some of the obvious deadwood and improving the defense. The kind of move that the Chris Childs deal provided.

And you know what - I wouldn't bitch at all had he not had a big presser announcing his plan to give the team that extra spark.

But because people here are good at hindsight means that BC can supposedly get away with very little foresight himself, while talking out of both sides of his mouth. None of us here are meant to be held accountable for the performance of the team Jeff. Colangelo gets paid to be held accountable. Please don't tell me you equate the two situations in any way.
