It ain't gonna be any of the three. It's gonna be Phil Jackson, and thats a guarantee. I got sources.

Iggy had a career year while coached by Cheeks. If he was not responding, he had a funny way of showing it.

Of course, there were some issues during the season in which Cheeks was fired. However, I think integrating Elton Brand into the lineup had a lot to do with that. Cheeks' replacement still had trouble when he took over, yet the 76ers started to play well again and made a playoff push after Brand went down with an injury.

I recall Cheeks losing the locker room as well, with Iguadola being a central part of that. Brand was definitely a problem, but Cheeks got a good portion of the blame.

The thing is, it's possible that Iggy has thrown a number of people under the bus. 4 coaches in 3 years for him. And when 2 of those coaches took you to the playoffs, that's not a good sign. Based on comments from 2009, Iggy appears to have had a lot of input in the 76ers decision making, or at least they gave him a token chance to voice his opinion.

I'm not surprised Philly is shopping him so hard. They were also talking about this on PTI.

I feel inclined to give Cheeks a little benefit of the doubt. Again, he's not my ideal candidate, so I don't want to give the impression that I'm trying really hard to defend him. I'd just be okay with him over a guy like Frank if those are the only types of candidates willing to interview for the job.

Yep - completely agree. And in any case, defense often comes from an assistant to a good extent. How the staff got rounded out would be important as well.

Good coach, he knows the game. He had a rough start over here in Portland, due to probably the crappiest team ever assembled in the NBA.

Nah man, seriously, when Ruben Patterson is your "go to" guy, your team is gonna have issues scoring the basketball.

As much as that's great, I wouldn't base hiring him on it.
