Sorry guys, but...

I don't think we will be that good.

The team is raw, we still have some huge glaring problems in the defence, and by the time our team starts to gel, I'm afraid that it might be too late.

I don't know man, I'm usually optimistic, but I'm thinking 40-44 wins, MAX!

44 wins wouldn't be so bad. The task at hand for this team is to be much improved in time for the playoffs, and go from there. That's why putting so much attention on the pre-season is craziness.

The team will not hit it's stride until about late december, early january. Give it time. The team will not win 50 games this season like a lot of people were predicting. More around 45 wins give or take, which is what I've been thinking since the roster was finalized. With all the new/young guys it will take time for them to gel, plus the injuries haven't helped.

44 wins IS a bad thing considering the Raps need to win games to keep Bosh around. In order to keep Bosh the Raps will have to get to the 2nd round or play a very competitive first round series i.e. push it to 7 games. 44 wins will probably not get them the 5th seed this season as the east has gotten a lot more competitive. They will need the 5th seed to have ANY CHANCE of getting out of the first round.

44 wins isnt going to get them any higher of a seed than 6(at best).

44 wins would probably get 7th seed and a first round date with either Cleveland or Orlando and also get them an absolute drumming. If the team made it to five games against either of those 2 teams I would be absoltely shocked.

Anything happens in the playoffs. If the raps make the playoffs I'll be happy.

Exactly. Last year 43 wins got you the 5th seed but that will not be the case this season. The east is a lot tougher and 44 will get the Dinos no higher than 6th probably 7th. If the raps finish anything lower than 5th, then they will face one of the big three in the east and get spanked. Let's hope the Dinos can gel in time and stay healthy and become a force to get enough W's. The talent is there no question, but will it all come together in time?

i bet you raps wont do well this season
i bet you they wont make playoffs
another season of disappointment with good players....good bye bosh.

and for those who say its only "preseason". it doesn't matter, if there goin to lose to teams like minnesota, then i can guarantee that raps will not do good this season...and also i have a gut feeling its going to be another year of disappointment. Plus turn over turkoglu is not 100% healthy and the season hasn't begun thats only going to cause problems as the season progresses.

I'm still not concerned about it.

Let's take the Leafs for example:
6-3 in the preseason,
0-6-1 in the regular season.

Edit: The Leafs lost again tonight, so make that 0-7-1

The preseason is not worth a damn. Take it with a grain of salt.

Preseason record doesnt mean shit but a record like Orlandos looks pretty damn good.

JeffB's numbers in another thread doesnt look to good either.

If they win 44 and actually improve greatly over the last half, while a second or third seed suffers a setback, then they have every chance of doing well.

How do you smart numbers guys figure anything other than that a team that makes the playoffs has a shot at the second round? Why do you even bother to follow the game? Put some data into your computers and figure out who wins it all before the season even starts. And then go make love to one of those Japanese sex toys.

You are right!

That could just skweak in at 8, get Boston and have the Celtics all get broken legs and then they will get to the second round.

Well no one thought Golden State would be Dallas a couple of years back...

It would be great to sneak in and shock the world!

After 5 games or so well get a good idea how this team will be. In spite of the fact our record was good I knew lasts year team would suck after the first few games just from the way everyone looked. Smitch was depressing, jose was sluggish, Bosh didnt get any better, JO was done, moon thinking he was kobe bryant, ukic sucked, and solo-man really really sucked.

At the start of this year, if we dont see any signs of life in the coaching staff and the players i think its fair to press the panic button. But I am confident this team will win over 45 games if everyone gels and stays healthy. Talentwise this team is twice as good as last years team.

If Raps are at .500 by January and everyoneis healthy, they could make some noise.

Too early to write them off. Talk to me Jan 1.
