Sonny Weems- Appreciation Thread

Lets spread some of them positive vibrations for a change!!!

Yeah Sonny! Beasting as of late!

On a side note!
---------------
If their were such a thing as a "Sonny Weems" jersey I would buy it... "Weems" is kinda weak on its own... perhaps I could get a custom "Sonny Weems" jersey but that might look silly, thoughts?

and to think that he was close to getting waived! i lovee what he brings to the table each and every night. makes our bench that much deeper :yeah:

Raptors_fan202 04-04-2010 01:12 PM

How can you sign Bellineli after a couple of games and not signing this guy after 70 games ????

Because the option on Belinelli had to be done by November as was Douby (he was released), but Weems option doesn't need to be picked up until the summer.

Weems is the next kobe, his midrange game is already as good as kobe:dancing:

Essentrick 04-04-2010 02:11 PM

I don't know if his mid game is as good as kobe yet, although the number would argue that..

I remember weems saying he wants to be the best player in the league.. Some pretty lofty aspirations...lol ;D

Yea Weems deserves this thread. If he continues to improve along with his good mid-range game he can be like a 14 ppg scorer in this league + some D.

Let's just hope he does not turn into a Jamario Moon. In his first season, when he was praised for coming out of nowhere, he was known as a very good athlete and defender. After that, all he settled for is jumpers and it seemed as if he stopped trying on the defensive end.

But put all that aside; SONNY SIDE UP :clap3:

Bad comparison because weems already has better offensive & on the ball defensive skills plus he is only 22 and moon is like 30 now!

Sonny is sick. He deserves to be in the starting line-up. Considering what we got him for I am super happy

pigspigs76 04-04-2010 04:39 PM

I feel like Sonny Weems and DeRozan could be the deadliest combo in the league 3-5 years from now...

that is... if everything unfolds accordingly to my 'wicked awesome' pipe dream :)

I think this cat deserves a good nickname also...not like the "Sonny Side Up" thing Devlin is using. He probably hates that like DD hated "Kid Dynamite".

It'll be tough though. Nothing about his name or situation jumps out at you for a nickname.

"Saw" since he's from Arkansas?

"2-doz" since he is #24 (2 dozen)

Wow, this is gonna be hard.

He comes up with clutch defeensive plays too. This guy is great

TORaptor4Ever 04-04-2010 10:24 PM

Ha! And some were calling him a "D-league player" and a "12th man at BEST" earlier on.... :mischief:

My favourite player (along with CB4) this season.

We lucked out HUGE with him.

Long_Road 04-05-2010 01:20 PM
