Some positive words from Chad Ford on Davis

Taken from his ESPN chat

Quote:

John (Canada)

Why did so many teams pass on Ed Davis? He put up 17/12/3/3 last night and altered almost every shot that Dallas put up in the paint.

Chad Ford

Didn't put up big numbers at North Carolina (paging Harrison Barnes) and some questioned his work ethic. Plus he had a broken wrist at the end of the season which limited workouts. But it was a mistake. He should've gone much higher.

Davis will be our Al Horford with a better shot blocking ability.

Dont wanna get too excited about Davis yet. But I like his game

I like Davis' potential when he beefs up. Could really help Bargs on the defensive end, and he looks like he could be an excellent help defender.

Our frontcourt seems better now with Davis playing

Davis is going to really good he needs to get his legs back into shape still but he looks like the biggest steal of the draft!!:dancing:

Davis has potential, but at this point isn't NBA-ready.

He does not have a good jump shot to play the 4, and not big enough to play the 5. But his defence, effort and rebounding has been terrific so far, and he needs to continue to bring those factors.

You got like the kid. Low key ... trys hard.
He's not NBA ready yet. He seems to get the ball knocked out of his hands quite easily. He will learn in time to protect the ball better. He does seem a little passive, but that doesn't necessarily mean he isn't giving his best.
Needs to work on his shot, but has excellent feel around the rim. He is a keeper.
