The Solution: Playing Bargs @ SF!

Seriously, moving Bargs to SF, we wouldn't complain about his rebounding and his help D!! He can't hurt the team more than he is doing it now!!
You'll probably say, he'll get burn by any SF, but the reality is: He is getting burn at any position!! We have two young shot blockers who play better D and rebound!! Sonny is not producing, so temporary solution = Bargs at SF!!

Discuss...

We already tried that and it was a big failure so no

MISAM38 02-17-2011 11:01 PM

No- I dont like it. hes too big for an Sf, and wont be fast enuf to keep up with great sfs like , LeBron, GAy,Granger,Melo, Durant, etc..... this kinda messes up the lineup in my opinion, who would be starting C?????????. I know Bargnani doesnt do a good job, but Ajinca or Alabi startin is even worse.

the argument could be made that he'd just never get his shot off against quicker, faster guys and that his mismatch with big men is what gives him an advantage. my first reaction was to completely dismiss the idea of him on the wing, but there can't be too much harm in trying again, can there? we had a pretty different team when we tried that last time.

eazy187 02-17-2011 11:02 PM

pass.. let him play PF

Don Vito 02-17-2011 11:04 PM

Didn't they try that when J.O was in Toronto? I'm pretty sure the lineup was Bargnani Bosh O'neal for a while.

I remember that lol

Dark Knight 02-17-2011 11:07 PM

So you make our tallest player a wing? Thanks, but no thanks.

jj33 02-17-2011 11:50 PM

The problem is D and rebounding!! At least with Ed at C and Amir at PF, we'll get more rebounds, more possessions, more blocked shots, overall better D!!
If Bargs could only send the guy on his weak hand and let Ed & Amir swatting those shots!!!

INSIDER 02-17-2011 11:55 PM

i'd give it a shot...
fuck, why not? we currently have weems in our starting lineup. can anything be worse than that?

throw Bargs at sf... he wont need to rebound, and will probably love it. he already gives up a lot on the defensive end, whats the difference if he's giving it up to the opposing SF.
just let him chuck shots if he cant use his foot speed against quicker players.... at least he'll have a height advantage.

Nites 02-17-2011 11:56 PM

Bargnani has 0 blocks in the last 7 games.

MISAM38 02-17-2011 11:58 PM

id rather Amir play SF, bargnani pf and Davis C. Get WEEMS the hell out of our lineup!!!

And who is going to come off the bench when one of them gets tired? You really want to play Dorsey for 20 MPG?

MISAM38 02-18-2011 12:09 AM

Thats also another thing Toronto should work on- Bench. Any rotation we have, were still gonna get destroyed once our bench players come in. Torontos starting lineup itself is a decent Championship team bench.

there is one problem with bargs at sf. he has little back to basket post game. he has a great face up game, but more times than not bargs cant pull up in ur face and score. look at his game conciously and you can see that over half his possesions what he does it hold the ball for 3 seconds in triple threat possesion, more times than not throw a fake, dribble right and in the general direction of the basket and once his defender is on the move he pulls up. with an sf defending him one, he cant dribble to get his man off him seeing how the ball will be stolen from him 90 percent of the time. two, the sf would be able to stay with him so he cant create space for himself. three, more times than not a good defensive sf(more defensive than offensive sf's available) will just knock the ball out of his hands while in triple threat position. bargs is a slow reactive player and rarely changes his decision mid action and thus weill never be able to adjust do different type of d. for example, he will never see the swat coming and pull up for a shot to draw a foul

MISAM38 02-18-2011 12:21 AM

SF would be wayyyyyyyy too much of a challenge for him. U put Bargnani in PF position, then get Chandler at C, and u got urself something there-- for now.

You my friend are a mind reader!!

SoGood 02-18-2011 02:51 AM

I think that's what's been happening when Triano has all 3 of them in the game. on offense, it doesn't hurt much because of how Bargs plays...
on defense, like many have said he's gonna give up points regardless but having a bigger guy in there like Davis rather than Weems will give more of a post presence, plus Davis won't chuck like Weems on the other end. Should def go to this lineup more often
