I guess this means Triano rules and he needs to come back next season.
Hey we also won games against ORL, HOU and SA but that meant nothing to you either.

His list of bad losses is far bigger than his list of good wins, you're going to lose that argument every time.

Only if you fail to take into account what this team has had to deal with (injury-wise) for most of the season.

Take Milwaukee as an example... it's entirely possible that they'll fade out of the playoff picture and into the lottery.

Why?

No Redd and no Bogut.

When you lose 2 MAJOR pieces of your team it's almost impossible to recover (or maintain).

Some people need to understand this.

Torap, we've played horrible basketball under Triano almost the entire season. It's as simple as that.

That's an extremely short-sighted POV.

If you can name me a coach who could have led us to a 50-win season with a injured Jose for 80% of the season, a JO that missed half his games, and a Bosh and Parker that were being forced to try and do WAY too much then I'll back you.

You ever look back at Popvic's record the year that Robinson and Elliot were injured? The year before TD was drafted? They were terrible beyong belief too.

Want to know why I back Triano? Playcalling like last night. That set that got Jose a wide open lay-up at the end was a thing of beauty.

TO, the great apologist. Sorry, but call a spade a spade. We haven't been very good. We aren't a good team really. It's evident. Injuries are only a small portion of what harmed this team. We were built poorly from the start.

And that's the coach's fault??

Honestly... this is the same exact shit that people spewed about Babcock lol.. "OMG!! HE CAN'T TURN THE TEAM AROUND IN A YEAR!!! FIRE HIM!!"

It's tiresome.

Judging Triano SOLELY on his record is ridiculous. You can't coach your way through injuries to major players when you have no depth.

Was Triano going to make Solomon into a smart PG who DIDN'T make stupid decisions?

Was he going to make open shots for Kapono?

Was he going to be able to force Parker to play 40+ minutes/gm and not seem worn down?

The year that we won 47 games we had MUCH more depth.. and fewer injuries. Go back and look.

It makes a difference.

You want to call me an apologist for that then fine.

You just want to be right torap. You liked Triano from the start, and this four game winning streak has you all happy because you can say Triano is awesome. But their is a reason you weren't on here posting this stuff when we were losing 7 in a row.

It's not ALL Triano. It def. has to do with the improvements to the roster as well and the fact that guys are finally starting to gel a bit.

I've stated what I like about Triano umpteen times. The guy's not just a talking head. He's known and respected around the league.

The reality of the situation is that it's ridiculous to expect a coach to come in MID-SEASON and fix a "broken" team.

You usually need about 2 seasons to do that.

Problem with Raptor fans is that they're too damn impatient. As usual. lol.

What injuries have they had to withstand other than Brand who never fit their style of play anyway?

Here's a little blurb that everyone should read.

"in 1996/97 injuries would cripple the Spurs right from the start of the season, as David Robinson started the season on the injured list. Without Robinson the Spurs would lose 15 out of their first 18 games as Coach Bob Hill was fired and replaced by GM Greg Popovich. However, under Popovich things would not get better as David Robinson returned to play just 9 games before breaking his leg. In addition to Robinson, the Spurs lost Chuck Person for the entire season. While Chuck Person was limited to 17 games and Sean Elliot was limited to 39. In total 4 of the Spurs top 6 scorers form the previous season were lost for more then half the season. No team could overcome such a plague of injuries and the Spurs bottomed out finishing with a franchise worse 20-62 record. However the pain would turn to pleasure following the season as the Spurs earned the top pick in the draft lottery allowing them to select Wake Forrest star Tim Duncan.."

I shudder to think what fans here would be saying if we were flirting with a 20 win season right now.

It makes no diffrence how far I go
Like a scar the hurt will always show
It makes no diffrence who I meet
Theyre just a face in the crowd
On a dead-end street
And the sun dont shine anymore
And the rains fall down on my door

How many games missed by Jose... and how many where he PLAYED INJURED.

Even Bosh had his struggles with health this year.... just because our guys didn't shut it down for the season doesn't mean that they weren't hurting.

And on a team with NO depth and no perimeter guard capable of taking over games in the final 2 minutes.... what did you really expect?

If you want to ignore injuries and roster failures and adopt a "just win anyway!" menality then that's fine.... I'm just curious to see if there's been a coach who's done that in the history of pro sports.

I hope to God that this team is healthier next season or people will be jumping from rooftops.

Better basketball isn't just about the W's... there were countless games this year where the team just mailed in a performance and that's not acceptable, healthy or otherwise. This team doesn't have as many roster failures as Sam's first 33 win team but they aren't going to win 33 games either.
