I get what your saying. You could add that it describes a terrible effect on the defense. But jeff was talking about him hitting his shots. I was trying to draw out, much like you are, that the issue is much larger than just hitting more shots.

I hear you.
I just miss his spirit & love for the city. It feels like Gay has pressed the selfish button & just wants to pad his stats before being traded. I wouldn't mind this if he actually played well, but he is not improving his stock at all!

At least the Nash trade didn't go through, that would have been a real disaster!

& @ least we got Landry. Everything's better with Landry.

I think he'll show up bigger in the scoring vs Miami. He seems to be the type who "turns it on" when he needs to, even though he's not talented enough to really do that like other guys

Nobody else was hitting shots. Pacers adjusted.......it's what good teams do. Maybe if DD wasn't 2-16 things would have been a little different

this year it has nothing to do with his vision, he's been taking a lot of ill-advised shots that basically have no chance of going in and when he drives he keeps throwing up random flip shots

You want him to drive more but when he does he loses the ball it seems 7 out of 10 times. T hen when he takes jumpers they aren't going in. It's extremely frustrating. He is better than this. I liked what I saw from him yesterday, hopefully he can build on that.

Good thing he doesn't have to worry that anyone will attribute an improvement to his eyesight since he hasn't improved at all.

His career has been trending down for 3 seasons and he's no longer playing with 2 beasts that controlled the paint and demanded attention from the defense and opened space for him-makes a huge difference. There won't be any better except for the odd game here or there. He's overpaid and over-rated. His success came because of the line-up he was playing with. And it's not our line-up.

So how is his eye surgery looking after the Memphis game?
Shot is there, shot selection isn't

well.. he may be able to see better, but bad shots won't help.. if he takes better shots he will hit them

Rudy has been playing well and when he gets that shot going it's smooth like butter. But...ugh

1. He's careless, irresponsible, and not dependable with the basketball. Winning basketball players don't make careless stupid turnovers because they're hot-dogging through their legs. Turning the ball over trying to make a good basketball play is hard enough to overcome, but turning the ball over just because a player is being casual is inexcusable at the NBA level.

2. Rudy loves to just dribble up and shoot it. He can be deadly in the post, or even as a spot-up shooter, yet his eyes just seem to light up when he gets the ball behind the half court line and he gets to dribble up, do some jazzy moves, and fire off some crap-shot. He's the instigator of multiple one-and-done possessions throughout the course of the game where not only do the other 4 players not touch the ball, but they aren't even involved in setting screens or doing anything but watching the Rudy show.

I think that's where Casey comes into play. If the coach stands a chance of staying he needs to get Rudy playing a team game. There's no way he changes him completely. He'll have to allow a certain amount of the usual shit. But if he can curtail that stuff it really would make a difference. It looked like he was steering Rudy in the right directions through last night's game.

Agreed - and speaking of Casey - I loved last nights game, and I realize now he pretty much only played 7 guys. Love that minute distribution. 10 man rotations are for tankers and elites. Casey's job is on the line and he needs to ride his horses to develop some real chemistry. And that also ties into getting Rudy playing a team game - it's hard for some players to gel when there is a revolving door of teammates coming into the game.

Also; Amir was rock-solid last night; two boards because was busy occupying Memphis' bigs letting the little guys gobble up the rebounds; he was nonetheless a big factor in the victory.

All he needs to do is move the ball more.
Just like he did against Memphis, he was commanding attention, and DD was getting open looks.

exactly.. when he takes bad shots it's no different than having bargnanni out there.. those bad shots are just like turnovers.. teams like Mia, and Spurs will get you alive with those mistakes

Seems like a normal slow start. I'm noticing in Fantasy this year, a lot of players are starting off with horrid fg, ft, 3point %'s.

I also notice that the movement on offense is pretty pathetic, and there are not very many plays set up for Rudy, noticing too many ISO's. Casey sucks.
