Interesting list Doug has compiled and I think the majority of us would agree that we seriously need to make some type of move next season if we want to compete in the East.

I don't know, I kind of like the thought of Jefferson in a Raptors uniform. Gay references or tendencies aside, that man can ball.

He can ball for sure, but I think he's the piece Thorn wants to keep - he'd rather ship out VC. In Chicago, if the Bulls are in a position to draft a SF in the lottery, they might consider Noc expendible - especially at his contract - and he fits the bill for us perfectly - a tough, hard nosed defender who has range out to the 3-point line.

Nocioni's kind of a chucker. He'd be a slightly better version of Delfino. As for Miller, he's a great shooter, but we don't really need any more of those. We need someone who can drive and slash.
Dunleavy would be amazing and might make us East contenders right away... but I think he's Indy's closest thing to a franchise player right now, it'd be as hard to get him as someone Josh Smith or Redd, IMO. Jefferson is possible because New jersey wants to go in rebuild mode. Kirilenko would be nice too but his contract is big. If we can get either of the last two, I'd be a happy camper. |

Jefferson would be the ideal SF for us.
hands down. i hate the guy, but cant deny he'd be the exact fit we need to complete our puzzle. Nocioni is (as MVP pointed out) a chucker. sure he has the mentality we need... hard noised, take no crap, hussler... he also relies on his shot too much. and the last thing we need is another guy parking behind the arc. we need a guy (like RJ) who's going to create his own shot, get to the basket, drive the lane and get to the foul line when the chips are down. he can play D, hussles well and compliments our guys. i think think RJ is that guy. Miller would be nice here, but he's too much of a shooter... unless we give up a parker or kapono, he wont end up here. AK47 just gets paid too much IMO. when it all comes down to it, odds are we'll target Nocioni... it just makes sense. he's expendable in Chicago... we wont have to pay and arm and a leg for him... and most importantly; he's euro. i'd be surprised if we didnt end up trying to snag him. |

Kuzzy'z Scenario!
Atlanta Hawks will realize that Bibby wont take them anywhere, not even to the playoffs. SOO they will look for a PG... Behind Smith on the rotation is MARVIN WILLIAMS, someone whose shown a huge amount of development this year. Now M.Will is coming off the bench along with another solid swingman J.Childress. Now do they really need all these guys? Josh smith will easily get 5years worth 60 million and we can give up either TJ or Jose along with an expiring contract and complete a sign and trade with the hawks. The hawks can utilize Bibby in another trade for a BIGMAN to play alongside Horford. This would be a win-win deal for both teams. Raptor ------------------------------------------------Hawks: Calderon/Ford--------------------------------------- Calderon/Ford Parker--------------------------------------------- Johnson Smith---------------------------------------------- M williams Bosh----------------------------------------------- Horford Bargnani *crosses fingers ---------------------Pachulia or new bigman? * what PG to keep? * Will TJ regain enough value b4 the offseason? We need a bonified SF scorer and at least decent defensive player. I think Granger would be a fantastic fit, him or Iguodala. Granger shoots it better but Iguodala is more aggressive and is a better defensive player(even though its not by much). Nocioni isnt starter material, RJ's a pansy who cant create his own offence, Miller is a starter but isnt a good individual defender, and Diaw/Harrington/Crawford shouldnt even be on the list. Smith has lost a step. How can you put Nocioni at the top of that list for those 4 guys? Comeon. The guy is in and out of the starting lineup for the worst offensive team in the league. Its nice hes tough but hes pretty limited in what he can do offensively and especially defensively as a starter. He'd be a great 6th man though. |

Josh Smith is more of a PF than SF. He'd be a great fit on any team but our team would look disoriented with him at the 3 especially on offence. That and we have 0 chance of getting him.
RJ dissed raptornation. Hes dead to me. Plus you dont want him causing problems in the shower. The euros wont like him peeking. |

Deng > Nocioni.
That's why he doesn't start. The guy is exactly what the Raps need. Someone who actually gives a shit out there and who can play D. |
